At Everest Lounge it's not just selling the food on our menu. It is also about sharing the knowledge of cultural and ethnic reference to the food that we serve. We are pleased to introduce one of our best sellers, Momo. In Newari, one of Nepal’s oldest languages, ’mome’ means cooking by steaming. The history of momo in Nepal dates back to as early as the fourteenth century. Momo was initially a Newari food in the Kathmandu Valley. It was later introduced to Tibet, China and as far away as Japan by a Nepalese prince who was married to a Tibetan king in the late fifteenth century.
It is one of the most popular dishes across the Himalayan regions of East-South Asia border. These are steamed dumplings made with spiced meat fillings and served with one or more kinds of chutney. Momos are native to Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan. Momos are available on our menu for dining in as well as takeaways.
Also on our menu is PARDESI(G)(Medium)(Tibetan) with your selection of lamb, Chicken, Pork or king prawn tempered with a touch of garlic & coriander cooked in Spinach, Mushroom &tomatoes.
