Well it’s the final day ever to order from NeighbourFood and what a rollercoaster it has been. This year we have supported 27 fantastic producers with well over 2000 locally made products. We have helped to reduce food poverty in Nottingham with our Pay It Forward veg scheme which our fantastic NeighbourFood customers have so generously given to and we have donated all of our host percentage. We have also raised a whopping £349 through a pilot with head office called NeighbourFund to raise money for Ecoworks EcoBuild LightBulb studio, which will now be able to be finished and has just received a wood burner and will have windows fitted soon. We have shown that our local food system is very resilient and was able to feed 213 customers a week during the pandemic. Unfortunately it is just not viable anymore so we are closing our doors but I will be sending out our producers contact details via email in the next few days so you can contact them directly and hopefully continue to support local food and influence Nottingham’s food culture. Our biggest thanks goes to all our faithful NF customers who make it all worth while. We want to wish you all a very merry Christmas and new year, and because ‘the socials’ love a good photo, here is a fondant potato made with Richard Jacksons Melody potatoes wrapped in Manor Organic Farms streaky bacon with a sprig of rosemary from Ecoworks Community Garden which I cooked on Sunday (fry in clarified butter on one side, flip out into a deep roasting tin add more clarified butter and topped up with stock and some smashed garlic and roast until cooked) served with a giant hogget mincemeat pie from the Wild Wool Shepherdess sheep. Loads of love from your hosts in 2023 Bex, Shona and Beth ### Shop here until midnight www.neighbourfood.co.uk/Nottingham
