We would like to thank all our customers for their continued support and loyalty throughout our 81 years of service. The response to our closure has been overwhelmingly heartwarming and has truly shown how much impact just a simple chip shop can have on thousands of people.

In 1943, we were still fighting in the Second World War and fish and chips were one of the few foods not rationed by the British Government. Since then, we’ve seen a lot of change in the industry and in the world, but we fought through it all. Through a World War and a global pandemic, we were still here providing great customer service and delicious food to our all customers.

Today will be our last day of service. It will be incredibly difficult for us all, but we wish Gary Tennant the best in his retirement, and we wish you all the best in the future!

Thank you all for the memories, we will truly treasure them forever.

As you all know that Saturday 6th April is our very last opening but we have a really limited stock left, we will open at 12 but we will probably be closing earlier as we will be sold out of most items, we will do our best but we only have what we have!

I would like to say thank you to all of our customers for there loyalty to us over the years, we will miss you all but the time as come now to retire and look after our health ❤️❤️

Thank you for all your best wishes, cards, flowers, chocolates, cakes and bottles of whiskey, it is very much appreciated and we feel honoured that we have served you well ❤️

It is with great sadness that we are announcing that the shop will close permanently on Saturday 6th April 2024 due to retirement and other health issues.

The shop first opened in 1943 by John Tennant Senior, and has remained in the family for 81 years, being passed down to John Tennant Junior, then taken over by Gary Tennant.

We would like to thank each and every one of our customers for their support over our 81 years of service. It has been an absolute honour to serve you all.

Our last opening day will be Saturday 23 December 2023 and we will reopen as normal on Wednesday 10 January 2024.
