💜 From a vision… to a thriving community space.
A huge thank you to the Norfolk Community Foundation and the Love Norfolk Fund for believing in our vision and helping us transform our Community Studio.
Your funding has enabled us to install our large chilled display cabinet, lease our coffee machine, install an external power supply for our catering trailer, and create a welcoming cafe area where people can pause, chat and feel part of something.
The impact has been so much more than we imagined.
☕ Our volunteers now start the week every Monday together over a cup of coffee while preparing around 500kg of surplus food for our community.
🥣 Families have stayed after shopping to enjoy homemade soup and meals created from surplus food, giving people the confidence to try ingredients they may never have chosen before.
🚚 Our catering trailer operated outside the studio, creating affordable food options alongside new work experience and barista training opportunities in partnership with Green Farm Coffee
🤝 We’ve welcomed representatives from BroadlandDCouncil , local Health & Wellbeing partners and our local MP, Jerome Mayhew , who have all taken the time to sit with our members and volunteers to understand the impact this space is having.
When we applied for this funding, we supported 117 households.
Today, we’re supporting more than 210 households, that’s over 600 people weekly.
That growth is about much more than numbers. It reflects a community that knows there is somewhere they are welcomed, listened to and valued.
