The sun’ll come out tomorrow… and it’ll be hotter than this in our lil’ kitchen at 473 London Rd Davenham 🔥🥵🔥 the highest internal temperature recorded at 42 degrees… and that is not much fun , not gonna lie.

So we are tweaking our hours a tad, ( Thursday ) we are opening from 9:30-1:00 p.m. and be only be serving cold food after breakfast service… we hope you understand.! …..
Have you ever tried a freshly made TUSCAN SPICY, Or a NEW YORKER SUB not toasted..they are equally as delicious, you never know, you might not switch back!

We have a great selection of iced teas, ice lattes, including matcha, with blueberry,, vanilla, or strawberry, plus vanilla, strawberry and chocolate shakes too!

Business resumes as usual on Friday, and we will be open from 9:00-2:00 pm.

The sweetest moment of the day, was visiting The Freshly Made Lemonade Stand just at the entrance to Laburnum Park, and how delicious was the lemonade, served with ice and a slice, by the sweetest children. Thank you !

We’ve had a busy week at Dexter’s, lots of lovely food gone out, millions of iced matcha and lattes, great chats, kind words and lovely comments, and then this morning we ended the week by providing a beautiful bride to be, mum of bride & bridesmaids’ with their breakfast whilst getting ready this morning !

I totals forgot to take photos of the freshly made breakfast croissants, exotic fruit platters, yoghurt granola fruit pots, with fresh juices & bubbles ! But did manage to take one with the gooey baklava, chocolate topped strawberries & granola pots before the platter was delivered.

We wish them all the love and happiness in the world.

Oh dear… it seems that with so many changes afoot in our lovely village … and now a For Sale board has also appeared next door to us, for Loretta’s antique shop, that rumour has it we are closing down!… or that we have closed down, 🥺

Noooooo, we promise we are not ‘closing down. ‘ ( yes we’ve been asked multiple times today 😏whicv makes us a bit sad ) we aren’t closing down folks.

Tis’ true we will we at some point in the future ‘retire,’ but only when it’s right, and we will keep you informed of the new owners ‘if and when’ that happens, but not now, and not even anytime soon !

We are O P E N for business, though not on Weds at the mo, but we are O P E N Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 9-2:00 pm and if you still love what we do, in that we make wholesome, home cooked, hand carved butchers’ meat sandwiches, with the highest quality fresh ingredients in our sandwiches, please do visit us, as we are O P E N !

A reminder we sell fabulous savouries, pies cakes by CHATWINS Bakers and Confectioners , Twin Delights Bakery Jo's Cakes all each of which are local to us. We also sell farm eggs, and yummy runny honey from Kingsmead Honey 🐝

Ooh, we are on annual leave from Sat 29 August and reopen on Monday 7 September: we’re off on holiday, but we will be back after our break.

From Thursday. ( a reminder we close on Wednesdays now) … a slight adjustment to the menu… no hot food after 11:00 a.m. we hope you still enjoy our menu, but ovens will be switched off. Sorrrrrrry. 🥵

As the weather continues with Mediterranean temperatures, a slight tweak to our cooking patterns and menu 🥗

Breakfast will be served as usual, but only until 11:00 a.m., to enable us to switch off the ovens, air fryers, and heated warming units, to then focus on delicious salads from our salad bar,, we will have tasty home-made quiche, freshly made sandwiches & subs from the main menu, , home made iced Gazpacho soup to go, iced teas, iced coffees & iced matcha too !

If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen and let us make lunch for you !

So we made this for tea… the Gazpacho is exquisite, and the puree from the gazpacho we used for Patatas’ bravas … pretty good, full of antioxidants’, peppers, vine tomatoes, garlic. ( the rest is a secret recipe from Nonna Dragon ) 🐲 ! No more shall be revealed. 🤣

From Thursday, all through the summer, ( when it’s hot,hot ) Gazpacho to Go is on the menu: subject to availability as it’ll be freshly made on a daily basis, but be early as you can as when it’s gone, it’s gone 🐲 Ps: be can refrigerated for 24 hours. If you can resist that is !

We melted today and had to close early… from tomorrow, we will only be serving hot breakfast foods until 11:00 a.m., and also freshly made sandwiches, subs, salad boxes all from the main menu, so everything as usual, just no hot food ! That way we can switch the ovens off, and hopefully Sue won’t turn into the wicked witch of the west and melt into a puddle… 🧙
