🍻 WE’VE DONE IT AGAIN! 🍻

We’re chuffed to bits to announce that The Ploughshare has made it into the CAMRA Good B**r Guide 2027! 🎉🍺

And just to make us blush a little more, we’ve had this brilliant review from a West Norfolk CAMRA member:

⭐️ “Beautiful pint of Worth the Wait, perfectly kept and served in a lovely local pub at £5.20 a pint, worth every penny for something that good. Why can’t they move the place 20 miles west?!” 😂

There’s nothing quite like hearing that the b**r is being kept, served and enjoyed properly and we’ll happily take that as a pretty cracking compliment!

A new ale has hopped onto the pump! Our local friends at Moon Gazer have teamed up with Brid’s Cross Brewing in Rochdale to create this 5% German Porter that's dark like an espresso with layers of coffee, cocoa and a subtle liquorice finish.

Inspired by the Brothers Grimm tale The Hare and the Hedgehog and just like the hare in the story, this one won't hang around! Only a pin’s worth, so once it’s gone…it’s gone! 🍻

Chef Joe has been busy in the kitchen and has put together a brand-new takeaway menu to replace our previous one! 👨‍🍳✨

There are plenty of tasty favourites to choose from, including Fish & Chips, Pie of the Day, our Double Cheese & Bacon Burger, Scampi & Chips, veggie options and some delicious homemade desserts. 🍔🍰

And don’t forget our Sunday Roasts, with Chicken, Pork, Beef or a mixture of all three! 🥕🥔

💛 A Little Bit of Sad News from The Ploughshare…

After being part of our little community pub right from the very beginning, Gemma will be leaving the Ploughshare team at the end of September. 😢

Gemma started with us as a volunteer and went on to become manager, working alongside Scooby and the rest of the team to help make The Ploughshare what it is today. 🍻

We’re going to miss her hard-working nature, wonderful sense of humour and, most of all, her genuine love for the pub and our community. We’re incredibly grateful for everything she has contributed over the years and wish her every bit of luck and happiness for whatever comes next. ❤️

We’re hoping as many of you as possible can join us for a drink with Gemma after food service on Sunday 27th September and while we’ll miss having her on this side of the bar, we very much hope to see her regularly on the other! 🍻

Come along, raise a glass and give Gemma the send-off she deserves. 🥂

Sadly, our Murder at the Disco evening on Thursday 24th September has had to be cancelled, as we haven’t reached the minimum of 10 guests needed to make the evening work.

We’re really sorry to disappoint anyone who was looking forward to it❤️

Everyone who booked has been contacted, but if you have a ticket, please pop into the pub or give us a ring to arrange your refund.
