Just landed from Holy Goat 🐐

Astral Destiny 2026 🪐

Blended from two batches of golden sour b**r, both primary fermented with different Brettanomyces strains and brewed with locally grown malted barley, wheat and oats. This blend has an average age of three months and provides citrus and stone fruit aromatics. We conditioned this b**r on over 220g/l of single origin British farmed Maravilla raspberries.

Iron Goddess 👸🏻

Mixed Fermentation Sour with Strawberries and Oolong Tea

Brewed with golden promise pale malt, wheat and locally grown flaked oats. Primary fermented with a mixed culture which includes a blend of Brettanomyces strains. We refermented this b**r with 250g/l of the first of the 2026 harvest of Scottish strawberries, grown approximately 24 miles from the brewery. These strawberries were added to the b**r within one week of harvest to provide the freshest most intense fruit character possible.

Brewed in collaboration with Black Kite brewery in Hong Kong, we decided to add a cold infusion of Nanling Mountain Milk Oolong tea. This is a AAA grade of the Iron Goddess Oolong tea, grown in Fujian province China, and presents a unique creamy milk taste along with notes of orchid.

Drink young or age, this will get weirder.

Well, this is pretty bloody lovely.

The Firkin has made it into the CAMRA Good B**r Guide 2027! 🎉

For a little independent bar on Newton High Street, pouring b**r from little independent breweries, it genuinely means a lot to be recognised in the Guide.

A massive thank you to all the CAMRA members who support pubs like ours, and especially to everyone at St Helens CAMRA for their continued support of good b**r and the places that serve it.

And, of course, thank you to our brilliant little team who look after the b**r, the cellar and you lot week in, week out. ❤️

We’re not fancy. We’re not perfect. We’re a small independent bar that really bloody cares about b**r.

Well good b**r, officially.
