IT TOOK ONLY 11 MINUTES FOR THE POST ON NEWPORT MEMORIES PAST TO BE TAKEN DOWN GUYS 😂😂😂

Their page has now been unfollowed by all our businesses - No room for honest positive posts or constructive feedback? Then we will no longer support your page - Such a pity as you have some great contributors to the page with wonderful photographs of Newport and of days gone by in our City.

I am REALLY HOPEFUL that someone else will create a similar page for Wonderful Newport Memories where people can share their lovely stories, memories and photos, but won't be allowed to spew negativity about irrelevant stories, and bash small businesses just trying to do what they do, and create somewhere welcoming for the people of Newport to drink coffee!

I'm speaking DIRECTLY to Newport Memories Past and specifically Ian Dore who's the Admin, as we've been blocked

I don't want to see any posts of you taking poor quality photos here in Newport Arcade in the future thanks👍

We have enough wonderful supporters that share the photos they have taken of our beautiful building and it's restoration....their images are fantastic, show it in all it's glory, full of positivity and growth.
We honestly don't need sub-standard photos taken of looking through windows, or catching people unaware, of traders at our markets etc, it's all a little bit creepy if I'm being honest with you.

My suggestion is to take your camera elsewhere and take photos of the other gorgeous buildings we have here in Newport, we don't want you here thank you very much 👍

NEWPORT MEMORIES PAST
I've just been told that the original negative and irrelevant post from yesterday has been taken down from this page, which is great news so thanks to the admin for that 👍
What has ALSO been taken down is the post that Arcadia Coffee House posted, where all you wonderful people were so SUPPORTIVE of our little Coffee House and the space we have created for you all in Newport Arcade
ALL THE WONDERFUL COMMENTS OF SUPPORT AND POSITIVITY FOR NEWPORT, FOR A SMALL INDEPENDENT BUSINESS, AND YOUR EXPERIENCES WITH US HAVE GONE, just like that!
Now I am asking myself the question why? The anonymous person that wrote the original NEGATIVE comment about our business, is still on this group, yet a POSITIVE post that you guys on here created because of the SUPPORT you have shown us, has been taken down?
Makes absolutely NO SENSE whatsoever to me
We were savvy enough to screenshot almost all of the wonderful comments up until late last night, but anything posted today, I haven't seen I'm sorry and have been lost forever unfortunately, based on the actions of one person who controls this page.
For clarity, this post may have been deleted as it was a POSITIVE post on here, it has now been quickly replaced by lots of wedding photos in the last hour to try to cover it up and push the algorithm so people forget about it....
WE won't forget it here tho Admin, so if any of you wonderful people that commented and got behind us want to share the love, please feel free to post on OUR page instead 🖤 where they will always live proudly.
Let's keep the positivity high, keep the negative vibes low and try to drown them out...it is so hard for everyone right now, small businesses are struggling against the big corporate machines, but it's evident to me that people are sick and tired of the negativity spewed online too...so let's just not feed into it shall we

Our very ‘resident’ author, Care Assistant Matt Purkiss has finished his latest book and will be launching it at a special event at Arcadia Coffee House on Wednesday 29th April from 6pm to 8pm if you would like to go and support him. He will even sign a book for you.

The seventh ABP Newport Marathon Festival will take place this Sunday (19 April).

Over 10,000 runners will be taking to the streets in what is sure to be a fun-filled day!
