Saturday steaks 🥩
Originally from Steve Ramshaw’s renowned herd that roamed the Northumbrian hills, these full-blood and F1 Wagyu cattle now thrive on Cumbrian pasture under the care of Kevin Victor Thompson - we’re incredibly fortunate to get to serve this wonderful meat 🥩

Our wonderful Francesca Merico is doing a truly wonderful thing today, raising funds for Breast Cancer Now in the Great Run!

We’re all incredibly proud and she’s promised to wait for the rest of us with a glass of w**e at the finish line - ever the Italian 🇮🇹

How incredibly lucky we are to sell, cook with, talk about, this seriously special 🥩 is never lost on us. We still get excited every time a new delivery from Peter Hannan arrives.

Our house beef comes from Aberdeen Angus, Hereford and Shorthorn cattle bred on the Glenarm Estate and surrounding farms in Northern Ireland.

It’s then dry-aged for up to 45 days in Peter Hannan’s Himalayan salt-brick chamber, developing that wonderful sweetness, depth of flavour and tenderness we love so much.

Peter has spent years perfecting the process and we’re very fortunate to be one of only a handful of butchers in the UK selling these steaks from our counter.

Come and have a look. Better still, ask us about it.

WEDNESDAY 26th AUGUST - Last seating 6pm ⚫️⚪️

There’s something particularly special about a game under the lights.

This Wednesday we take on West Brom at home in the League Cup - kick off 7.45pm.

So, we’ve pushed our last seating back to 6pm. Plenty of time for a steak, a glass of red before the short walk up to the ground.
That sounds like a very good Wednesday to us.

Beautiful Gloucester Old Spot Pork in the Butcher’s Counter and on today’s specials in the restaurant.

From Charles Ashbridge at Mount Grace Farm - slow-grown and outdoor-reared. We’re serving it with ‘Nduja Butter and Sicilian Capers.

🍷 NOW POURING 🍷 Le Cupole 2021 🇮🇹 🔥

A big Tuscan red from Tenuta di Trinoro, rich, smooth and full of dark fruit and spice.

Merlot leads the blend, with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot bringing a little Bordeaux character to Tuscany.

We love it with steak from the grill. Even better, it’s pouring by the glass.
