We’re absolutely gutted to share this… After a recent visit from building control, we’ve been informed that the exterior work we carried out at Ngon Cafe does not meet the requirements for a listed building.

We are so proud of the hard work, love, and time that went into creating our look, so this has been really difficult news to receive. Unfortunately, due to regulations, we now have to remove our Ngon logos (AND cute banh mi😭) and repaint the premises.💔

It’s not the update we hoped to share — but rules are rules, and we respect the rules and regulations in place, especially when it comes to protecting listed buildings.

We’re sharing these photos as a little memory of what we had hoped to look like💛… this just means we’ll have to make the interior extra cosy 🫶🏻✨

So if you walk past and notice we look a little different — it’s still us, and we definitely haven’t closed down! Please still come down for your pho fix 🍜🇻🇳

Our signature bún thịt nướng: lightly sweet, grilled to perfection in our Southern-style lemongrass marinade — a top-secret recipe we’ve used for years🔥. Finished with fresh veggies, a crispy spring roll and served with our tangy house fish sauce for that extra depth of flavour.

Here are a few of our favourite things at Ngon Café 🇻🇳✨

🌸 Our hot pink, fuchsia bougainvillea tree — shipped all the way from Vietnam. It’s the most eye-catching spot of our café and most-definitely an Instagram-able corner, especially paired with our iconic quote: “Good Pho the Soul” because truly… nothing heals quite like a hot, aromatic bowl of pho.🍜

🥖 Our adorable Bánh Mì sign — he’s our banh mi mascot, tirelessly working day and night to encourage locals and tourists into trying a bánh mì or two (or five…)

✨ Our bamboo-woven light stream — modern yet rooted in tradition. They cast a warm, golden glow down the entire café, creating the cosy, inviting atmosphere we love.

🍃 Our very decorative wall of bamboo plates — some filled with Vietnamese staples like fresh chillies and bulbs of garlic — showcases the flavours that inspire our kitchen.

🐱 And finally, Mr. Mèo — our lucky cat proudly wearing his Vietnamese nón lá. He sits by the entrance, gently waving and welcoming every guest who steps inside. Because honestly… who wouldn’t want to be greeted that way? 😊
