🚨 Important Update for Our Gluten-Free Community,🚨
Firstly, a huge thank you to all our gluten-free friends for your feedback and ongoing support. We’ve received many requests for chicken balls, spare ribs, and char siu pork to be added to our gluten-free range. We want to share where we stand with these dishes:
1. Chicken Balls 🍗
Our chicken balls are made using a very specific Green Dragon flour blend that we’ve perfected over more than 20 years of experience. We’ve tested numerous gluten-free flours during the expansion of our GF menu, but none have matched the quality and texture we’re proud of.
For now, we’ll continue using our current recipe—unless we discover a gluten-free flour that can truly deliver the same result.
2. Spare Ribs & Char Siu Pork 🥩
The traditional marinade we use includes Crushed Yellow Bean sauce (this is why it is not gluten free because their simply isn't a gluten free crushed yellow bean sauce available 😭). This is a key ingredient that provides the complex umami depth and authentic BBQ flavour Cantonese cuisine is known for.
While alternatives like gluten free miso, gluten-free hoisin, tamari, and honey could be considered, simply leaving out the yellow bean sauce would compromise the authentic taste we’re passionate about. Crushed yellow bean paste has been used for generations in Cantonese cooking, and we feel removing it would change the essence of these dishes.

We want our gluten-free customers to know that we take every piece of feedback seriously and that we carefully consider all the ingredients we use and if we ever find the perfect solution, we’ll be the first to let you know.
For now, we’re not in a position to launch gluten-free chicken balls, spare ribs, or char siu pork—but your feedback inspires us to keep trying.
