Today is the 28th September, which is apparently 'National Drink B**r Day' in the good old US of A!
Unlike our chums from over the Pond, we don't have any 'Murican beers here at the Ale House, and our leader doesn't look as though he's been Tangoed!
We aren't having a ticker tape parade, but will of course be marking the occasion with a quiet, contemplative pint or two.
We have an absolutely spiffing selection of fine English Ales for you to enjoy this week, including Tessellations, a HAZY SIPA from Castle Rock, Ale Force Amber from Storm Brewing, and a New Zealand pale from Townhouse Brewing. We have 9 real ziders in the fridge, and more rum than could sink a pirate ship 🏴‍☠️
Our lovely Irish Folk folks will be joining us from around half 8 this evening, with Haydn on the bar to attend to your refreshment requirements.
So why not come on down and see us? If you see Grum, you could even ask him if he's going to be putting the heating on soon! 🤣👀

So, The Good B**r Guide 2027 came out yesterday. We are in you! Seriously, I'm over the moon to be included in this amazing tome. Big thank you to all of the CAMRA members who judged that we sometimes know what we're doing. Sometimes....
For me this isn't a given. There are many awesome pubs and not enough space to get us all in. Big congratulations to the other inclusions.

Regular of the Week!

This is Harry, he's one of our regulars he's always available for a chat on a Sunday and sometimes midweek. Always very calm and only sometimes eats the bar mats off the tables 👀

For those that aren't aware we always have a steady supply of dog biscuits available behind the bar for our fluffy patrons, so please feel free to bring them down if you're in town.

I read a Facebook post last week reminding us that Madri "Exceptional" l***r shmager is not in fact from Spain at all. Its concept was dreamed up by some marketing bods in Burton on Trent, and it's brewed in Tadcaster, tha knaws!
Here at Bridge Street, although our leader is unashamedly French 🇫🇷 we prefer to shop locally for our ales!
Coming up for your delectation we have Castle Rock's 'Screech Owl' from Nottingham, Redwillow 'Dreaming of Eldorado' from Macclesfield, and Stonehouse Brewery 'Station Bitter' from Oswestry.
Caff will be attending to your requirements on the bar this afternoon, and Haydn is here later, to ease you into Monday evening with our lovely Irish Folk folks.
Don't forget we have had a lick of paint 🎨 on the frontage, so try not to get paint on yourselves! 😁🖌️

Monsieur Grumbles le propriétaire de canards will be in session, and the specials round subject is...*drumroll*...UK Motorways! (We don't know either).

Not only that, but on top of the usual array of top notch Ales, C***rs, Rums and more on offer, we also have the best pint of Bass in Bridge Street ready and waiting for you to enjoy!
