So Decaff's recent rain dance didn't work, the burning orb in the sky's been beating down all week, & the countryside's turned ever more crispy. It's looking to be another warm one today,🌑️with the temperature in the 20's.
Though we don't have aircon at the Ale House πŸ˜‰, we do have a breezy beer garden, with a shady gazebo that's even cooler than Uncle Grumbles favourite tasselled jacket 😎
Caff has cooling ales 🍺and a selection of chilly ziders 🍎 on the bar. We're particularly looking forward to sampling the Ein Stein by brewery, the Brewery Caked choc brownie stout, & the first press vintage cider πŸ˜‹πŸΊπŸ
Our Irish Folk folks are here from about half 8, and Haydn will be your host this evening.

Well well well....

It's not just an ordinary Saturday night here at the Ale House; our very own barman Mojo is having a bit of a Birthday Shindig upstairs (he'll be old enough to drink soon, they grow up so fast!).

As it's his Birthday he'll be dealing with some "Spirits" as you can see from the photo attached (see what we did there?! πŸ˜‹)

It's shaping up to be a cracking night, and we've got a load of wonderful Ales and Ciders both on at the moment and in the queue for later.

You know it makes sense, see you at the bar! 🍻

So, I was on the bar yesterday pretending "to do a bit" and a Rum Bloke came in to learn stuff. This is Rum With James who has many social media groups testing and promoting rum. He obviously left knowing more than when he came in....
Seriously, his info is great and is definitely worth a look. He's very knowledgeable and a top bloke! And possibly knows more about Rum than I do. Possibly.

On this sweltering Thursday afternoon, why not head down for a cool refreshing pint of Ale or Cider just like our resident Seb relaxing after his day shift.

Yesterday afternoon I was chatting to a chap who sometimes frequents the Ale House, and he asked me a very strange question.. is Grum still grumpy? 🀣😱
I didn't really know how to answer that, as the Bossman has been in an uncharacteristically good humour of late, what with his recent trip home πŸ‡«πŸ‡· and the fact that we let him out on his own at the weekend, to host some karaoke at another pub! πŸŽ€πŸ•Ί
Why don't you come on down and see us, Decaff is on the bar this afternoon, and then the best dressed bartender in Newcastle for this evenings' shenanigans. We have Leatherbritches Ashbourne IPA, Castle Rock Preservation, and of course 9 proper ziders 🍎🍏 and our amazing array of rums πŸ₯ƒ
The lovely Irish Folk folks are playing from about 8.30 this evening. You might even spot Papa Grumbles, and you can ask him the question yourselves! πŸ˜‰πŸΊπŸΊπŸΊ

I've been meaning to post this for a week. The final finished article from Tony Yearsley. I can't describe how happy I am with it. It's in the non fictional beer garden. If in doubt there is a map available behind the bar. So, I'll hopefully see some of you soon for a pint or 2 and you can see for yourself.

It looks like we've got an interesting weekend ahead of us 😁

Grum is back so we're on our best behaviour (Supposedly)

And we've got an interesting selection of Ale and Cider on too, with Dark Side of the Moose by Purple Moose at the Weekend

So why not head down to sample some before the crowds rush in, or merely to ask Grum why he has so many holidays

So the Frenchman is still in his homeland ❀️ visiting friends and relations πŸ‡«πŸ‡· πŸ§„
Meanwhile at the alehouse, plans are afoot for mischief, for Monsieur GrΓΉme's triumphal return on Tuesday, to do his absolute favourite quiz shift!
As well as duelling the customers with lightsabres (!) Decaff is plotting to acquire a 50L keg of Stella and some gas, so she can pop some proppa French lager on, to make Papa Grumbles feel at home.
What else do you think the staff ought to do, to welcome him back? πŸ€”πŸ₯–
We already have Tricolores up in the bar πŸ‡«πŸ‡·, & some garlic in the fridge, so please come on down, and let Caff and Haydn know your suggestions. We have Lymestone Cowboy 🀠 from Lymestone Brewery, Ratella coming up next, & some fabulous Farmer Jimbo's Apple Red zider, and the lovely Irish folk folks will be playing from about half past eight. 🎻
