Shona made her professional debut at the age of twelve in the title role of Annie and went on to play numerous children's roles in both theatre and television including playing the role of Barbara Boyer in The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole and The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole for Thames Television. She left school to join the company of Crossroads for Central TV, playing the role of Sara Briggs for two years. To mark the end of Crossroads Shona released the single "Goodbye" for RCA/BMG and in 1990 Andrew Lloyd Webber cast her as Christine in The Phantom Of The Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre and Shona became the youngest actress to play this role.

She has gone on to become one of the West End’s most sought after leading ladies with roles including: Milly in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers at the Theatre Royal Haymarket; Sandy in Grease at both the Dominion and Cambridge Theatre; Gilmer in the Barbican production of Godspell. Shona created her role in the West End premiere of the 4 hander I Love You You're Perfect Now Change at the Comedy Theatre and was guest soloist with Sarah Brightman in The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber at The Prince Edward Theatre; and created the role Sally Veitch in the world premiere of Crooked Wood at The Jermyn Street Theatre.

Tours and regional theatre includes: Madge Hardwick in the award winning Top Hat; Baroness Elsa Schraeder in The Sound of Music;Mary in The Trouble with Old Lovers; Marjorie Houseman in Dirty Dancing; Rose Vibert in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Aspects of Love to great critical acclaim; Roxie Hart in Chicago and Anna Leonowens in The King & I at Aberystwyth Arts Centre; Bette Montague in the world premiere of Richard Harris’ That Old Feeling at The Mill at Sonning; Doris in Same Time Next Year at The Mill at Sonning; the role of Kathy Seldon in the national tour of Singin' In The Rain; Emma Carew in the UK premiere of Jeckyll & Hyde; Milly in the national tour of Seven Brides For Seven Brothers; Dorothy in the national tour of Murdered To Death; Mrs Pankhurst in Oh What A Lovely War!, Derby Playhouse; Julia Carrington in The Mating Game and Fay in A Chorus of Disapproval both at The Mill at Sonning and on national tour for The New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich; Suzanne Walter in The Wicked World of Bel Ami, Theatre Royal, Stratford East; the roles of Lady Townley in The Provok’d Husband and Vickey Hobson in Hobson's Choice, both New End Theatre; Dixie in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof and Alice in Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, Crescent Theatre, Birmingham.

Feature films include playing the role of Jacqui Charles in Telephone Detectives followed by the role of Dawn in Blush for 5th Floor Projects

Other television roles include: The Opera Singer in Starlings for Sky, Lisa in John Godber’s The Ritz based on his play Bouncers; Nicki Waterman in Doctors and Fi in Casualty all for the BBC and as Sandra in Granada TV’s sitcom Mother’s Ruin.

Over the past few years Shona has made a move into television presenting and hosting alongside her concert and acting work and is a main host at Ideal World TV. Other recent presenting ranges from links for Britain’s Got Talent the Champions to hosting large events worldwide & presenting training videos for business from beauty salons to International firms.


Regular listeners to radio will know Shona from her many appearances on Friday Night is Music Night and for the BBC Radio 2 series as Young Sally in Follies at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane with Julia McKenzie and Denis Quilley, Kristine in the 20th Anniversary recording of A Chorus Line, Grete Schone in The Dancing Years and Princess Maria in Call Me Madam with Tyne Daly.

Shona is an experienced concert performer having sung all over the world with many top orchestras from the Royal Philharmonic to the Hong Kong Symphony and will be spending the Summer in Singapore, Jakarta & Kuala Lumpur on concert tour with the Stars of the West End, she is a regular guest for Michael Ball and with the duo It Takes Two with West End veteran Glyn Kerslake and her trio The Rat Pack Dolls..
