We were delighted to welcome members of the Scottish Food Commission to our Newhouse depot for their latest monthly meeting.

Hosted by Scott Allan, the visit highlighted the vital role wholesalers play in connecting customers with Scottish producers and supporting local economic growth. We showcased our partnerships with more than 80 Scottish suppliers, our commitment to sustainability and community support, and the importance of collaboration across the food and drink industry 🌱

A special thank you to Derek Blaney from IRN-BRU for sharing the value of strong supplier partnerships, and to Michael Croy for preparing a fantastic selection of Scottish products for our guests to enjoy πŸ‘¨β€πŸ³

FIFA World Cup fever has arrived at our Inverness depot! βš½πŸŽ‰

To celebrate the start of the tournament, colleagues were invited to wear their colours with pride β€” whether that's their favourite international football shirt, a Scotland top, tartan, a kilt, a "See You Jimmy" hat, or anything else that shows their team spirit.

As a thank you for their continued hard work and support, we’re also delighted to provide a free meal for all colleagues.

We really appreciate everything our teams do every day, and hope they enjoy this small token of our thanks.

After all, it's been 28 years since Scotland's last World Cup appearance β€” so let's get involved, have some fun and enjoy the occasion!

Our team had a brilliant time attending the Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland at the Hilton Glasgow, celebrating the leaders of today and tomorrow across Scotland’s hospitality industry.

Representing Brakes Scotland were Paul Ritchie, Marilees Cameron, Laura Brolly, Stewart Rose and Allan McVeigh, who were joined by valued customers including Lazzuri and Erskine Veterans Charity.

The evening was hosted by Des McKeown and featured fantastic entertainment from Fred MacAulay, alongside Scottish football legends Alex McLeish and Gordon Strachan, who shared stories, insights and plenty of laughs. Guests were also treated to an incredible line-up of performances from the Unison Pipe Band, Waterfront and DJ Chris.

As proud sponsors of HIT Scotland, we're delighted to support the charity's ongoing work developing and nurturing talent across Scotland’s hospitality sector πŸš€πŸŒŸ

A huge thank you to everyone involved in delivering another memorable evening.

Last Saturday, around 40 members of our Brakes Scotland team, alongside friends, climbed Dumyat Hill in Stirling to raise funds for the family of Andy Russell, a valued night shift colleague who sadly passed away a few weeks ago after 22 years of dedicated service.

It was wonderful to see so many people come together in Andy’s memory and show their support for his family during such a difficult time. The day was a fitting tribute to a colleague who was greatly respected and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

All funds raised will go directly to Andy’s family, and every contribution, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.

Thank you to everyone who took part and supported this special cause.

🌈 It’s more than just a rainbow 🌈

At Sysco GB, Pride Month is an opportunity to celebrate individuality, champion inclusion and recognise the importance of creating a workplace where everyone feels safe, supported and able to be themselves.

Our β€œProud to Be Me” campaign is led by Spectrum GB, our Colleague Resource Group for LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies, whose mission is to foster an open and inclusive environment across the business 🀝

Throughout June, colleagues across Sysco GB will be taking part in a range of activities, including a Pride video featuring colleagues dancing, waving and celebrating Pride in their own way πŸ•ΊπŸ’ƒ

There will also be Global Pride Day celebrations, weekly Pride quizzes, educational sessions on active allyship, virtual cooking events, Pride-themed Teams backgrounds and email signatures, and site celebrations featuring cakes, Pride stands and Spectrum wristbands.

Because Pride is about more than a rainbow symbol β€” it’s about creating a culture where everyone belongs and feels proud to be themselves.

We caught up with Luke White from Luca's Bar & Restaurant in Millport, one of our valued customers on the Isle of Cumbrae. Just a short ferry ride from Largs, the island is a popular summer destination, with beautiful beaches, cycling trails, festivals and great food and drink β˜€οΈπŸš²

Located opposite the harbour, Luca’s is a family-run cafΓ©, bar and pizzeria serving authentic Neapolitan-style pizza alongside local favourites. Luke is particularly fond of our South American beef range, while our vegan and gluten-free Chocolate Orange Dessert was another standout from last week's Foodie Expo β€” so watch this space for some exciting menu additions! πŸ•βš“

A huge thank you β€” and congratulations β€” to every Brakes Scotland colleague who took part in the first IRN-BRU x Meals & More Virtual Marathon throughout April! πŸ‘πŸƒ

Together with colleagues and supporters across the wider campaign, an incredible Β£5,607.69 was raised, plus a further Β£1,154.25 in Gift Aid, helping Meals & More continue its vital work supporting children and young people across the UK.

It's because of people who continue to show up, day after day, and go the extra mile for others that Meals & More can continue its mission to feed young futures.

Thank you to everyone who walked, ran, cycled and supported this fantastic initiative. Your efforts will make a real difference 🧑
