HEADS-UP, folks. Ox news.
As of today, this fine fellow is your new Publican and Landlord of the Ox Inn.
And this short term Landlady has left the building! With this my final Fb post here.
6 months in the planning, I am off to concentrate upon the other 2 small businesses that I run. Taking-on the Ox, becoming Landlady, was only ever meant to be for one year maximum. Just to keep the doors open, to prevent undoubted closure back in June 2023. This pub had belonged to my Great Grandfather, and I saw it as my duty to keep it open. Now, 1,076 days after taking-on the keys, Job Done! I handover to Adrian, who is superb as you all know, and who will look after you far better than this fill-in 'Annie Walker'!
That I leave the Ox a happy and welcoming pub is gratifying! Everyone is welcome. And, of course, the now beautiful interior is all down to Adrian. I think you all agree the Ox is much the better for it. Infact, increasingly, folk are saying the Ox is the best pub around. Thanks v much for that, and to everyone who supports this beloved establishment. The Ox will continue to offer good cheer, much mirth, and great beer. It is in very good hands, don't you worry.
This Landlady has called Time on herself. For all the right reasons. And safe in the knowledge that the Ox IS the best pub in town! Doors still open Tuesdays to Sundays from 4pm.
OX INN - come on inn.
