We're looking for a part-time pot washer. An ideal opportunity for a young person to take their first or second step into emplowment.

I'm looking for someone with a good attitude, a genuine desire to work and who is comfortable working in a team. I'd love to give a young person a positive first experience of work, and help them along their journey in life.

Ability to work weekends is essential, and preference will be given to those who can also do at least one weekday 2.30-4pm.

18 months ago, Grow Kitchen was a concept I'd been exploring and working on. This week we celebrate our first year in business. We've set really great foundations, which I now been to build on to create a financially sustainable business (because I do need to earn a living) which Morecambe is proud of and people love being part of.

For now, here's a snapshot of the journey so far.

One year ago today, we opened our doors to the public for the first time. What a year's it's been! I can't quite believe it's already been a year.

I'm so proud of what me and the team have built so far, and grateful for the support you've all given us. Of course there have been tough days/ weeks, and plenty of challenges to overcome, but those days we see the cafe bustling with energy and happy customers make it all worth it.

Thank you to my team, to you all, to our fabulous local suppliers, and to myself!

I also popped into Fuelling the Bold to celebrate their seventh birthday today. Great to be working with such a lovely local family business, and to share a business birthday.

Meet the Team – Part 3. Introducing Lauren…

- Role: Front of House
- Biggest strengths I’ve noticed: Being great with customers, making people feel welcome/included, great progress in coffee making skills (from never using a coffee machine, to regularly making super-smooth and tasty coffees even with the occasional latte art), being a team player (by agreeing to last minute shifts to cover team members, helping catch up on washing up when we’re behind, etc)
- Typical behaviour: Coming into the kitchen with potentially useful info, only to be met with busy and grumpy kitchen staff/owners!
- Catchphrase(s): “Are you hydrated?”

Boss’s notes:
Having someone as reliable as Lauren both at Grow Kitchen and Wrap Ninjas has been such a blessing. And most of you will already know she’s fantastic with customers across both businesses. She was actually one of our Wrap Ninjas regulars, and ended up responding to a call out for staff help in July last year. Her second proper event day with Wrap Ninjas was at Clitheroe Food Festival – one of our busiest events!
