🥔 At The Bay Cafe, we like to keep food waste to a minimum! ♻️

That's why we try to avoid scrappy chips wherever we can. Every now and then, you might spot what we like to call a "roastie" in your portion of chips. 😄

They're simply larger potato pieces that are too good to waste, and they cook up into delicious little roast potato bites!

Thanks for helping us reduce waste while still serving up great food. Who doesn't love finding a bonus roastie? 💛🍟

🌟 Meet the Boss! 🌟

Meet Julie, the proud owner of our chippy for the past 4 years!

Although she's been running the shop for the last four years, Julie is far from a new face. She worked on and off alongside the previous owner for over 30 years, making the chippy a huge part of her life long before taking over.

As mum and grandma to a large family, Julie has always believed that good food brings people together. That's why she's passionate about making the shop a welcoming, family-friendly place where everyone feels comfortable, included, and leaves with a full belly.

One of the biggest changes Julie has introduced since taking over has been adding gluten-free fish to the menu, helping make sure more people can enjoy a traditional chippy tea with family and friends.

When she's not behind the counter, Julie loves spending time with her grandchildren. And if you know Julie, you'll know she loves a good chat! Whether you're a regular customer or popping in for the first time, she's always happy to stop for a natter.

Now for a little fun fact... Julie's favourite quick snack isn't fish and chips... it's a mushy peas bun! 🫛🥖

Looking ahead, Julie's vision is simple: to continue creating a friendly, welcoming place for the community and to make the chippy as inclusive as possible, catering for everyone's needs.
