Well that's Mid Calder Gala Day over for another year and I hope that all that paid us a visit enjoyed themselves. The weather stayed kind, no dramas, the tunes were banging and the drinks were flowing! Just the way we like it! 😉

Congratulations go to Mid Calder's Rose Grant, pictured below, who won our £25 cash prize for the longest ride on the Rodeo Bull! 👏

Huge shout out to all the Bull team that worked tirelessly throughout the day to keep you all lubricated! 🐃

Thanks also go to Quaser Entertainments, Mags Face Art, DJ Gary Armour, and big Akram on the door. 🙏

Scotland's last warm up game before the proper stuff starts for the FIFA World Cup finals is on the tellybox tonight. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

And remember the opening match is this Thursday at 8pm as Mexico take on South Africa. ⚽️

Our game against Bolivia will be showing LIVE in the Bull with KO at 9pm this evening. Can we score another 4 perhaps? 😉

Everyone needs to keep their fingers crossed the weather stays okay for the parade and the races folks! 🤞🙏

The hospitality sector has come together to launch – a united campaign and petition calling for hospitality VAT to be reduced from 20% to 10%.

Spearheaded by chef and publican Tom Kerridge, we’re working alongside trade bodies across the sector, such as The Scottish Hospitality Group, The Beer and Pub Association and the British Institute of Innkeeping. All hospitality communities are coming together, to say 10% VAT is fair for hospitality. But we need you, our customers to help too!

Our sector pays too much tax, and VAT is the single biggest lever the Government can pull to support venues, you the customers and our local communities.

This campaign is for everyone: businesses, customers, waiting staff, chefs, kitchen porters, bar staff, hotel teams, farmers, brewers, suppliers and producers.

You can see all the action in the Bull, with KO at the earlier than usual time of 1pm, at Hampden. We have a few conditions to adhere to as specified by West Lothian Council, so don't shoot the messenger! 😂
