Whether it's a trick or treat box for Halloween. A sticky toffee apple cake to share with family after Sunday roast dinner. Or a rich chocolate gingerbread to heat and top with custard after a hard day at the office. We'd love to bake one for you this month. 💛

The pink lily always makes me smile this time of year as they start flowering when most of the summer flowers are finishing so they are always a beautiful spark of colour to look forward to when the weather starts to turn 💛 🩷

we celebrate it at the shop as its really such an unusual fruit to GROW now in the UK.

As some of you know I used to live in Ibiza and there membrillo (quince paste) or quince jelly is the obligatory addition to every cheeseboard in the land. In this country is lesser seen but it's just SO delicious and I'm forever grateful for my friend Keith at my allotment to gift me with this tree about 5 years ago as its such a lovely fruit to grow and preserve... Especially with my prior links to Spain 🇪🇸

A NEW loaf for a NEW season

P E A R & G I N G E R L O A F ✨

Think sticky stem ginger and all its lovely syrup with chunks of our allotment pears nestled in the mix.

This is a beauty. Light and delicious. The PEARfect autumn cake with a cuppa tea or doused in custard as a pudding. 😋

Today is pear picking day 💚🍐

Coming to a bake/preserve near you soon!

Pears ripen off the tree so you want to pick them when they snap off from the tree with ease but are still very firm to the touch. Ideally you want to snap them off leaving a little of the stalk still attached. This really helps to preserve the quality whilst they ripen. They then need to be left somewhere cool and dry for a two or few weeks.

These will now be rested back stage till they are good and sweet then we'll be turning them into lots of delicious things for you to put in your tummies 😊
