🍻 BARTENDER WANTED FOR MARKFEST! 🎶

We’ve got one final spot on the bar team for MarkFest this Sunday and we’re looking for an experienced bartender to jump in and join us!

Sunday 30th August
📍 White Horse Inn, Mark

We can offer either:
Full shift: 3:30pm - Midnight
or
Cut/Cover Shift: 9:00pm - Midnight

🍺 Bar experience required
🎪 Busy festival environment - so we’re looking for someone confident behind a bar who can hit the ground running!

📣 CLOSED FOR LUNCH TODAY

After an incredibly busy weekend, including a wonderful wedding here on Monday, we’re taking a few extra hours today to give the team some well-earned rest and the pub a proper reset! 🧹

We’ll also be making the most of the time to crack on with general maintenance and preparations for MarkFest this Sunday!

💍 A very special Monday at the White Horse! 🥂

We may usually be closed on Mondays, but there’s plenty going on behind the doors today as we have the absolute pleasure of hosting Charlie & Matt’s wedding! 🤍

🎶 MARKFEST ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: SAM EVANS BAND

If you haven’t heard Sam Evans yet, here’s a little taste of what’s coming to MarkFest 👀

Somerset-based singer-songwriter Sam Evans has played more than 1000 live shows across UK & Europe, including Glastonbury Festival!

He’s also appeared on BBC Radio 2, supported internationally acclaimed artists and built a reputation across the South West for seriously good live performances

For MarkFest, Sam won’t be coming alone, he’s bringing the band for two sets in the garden, mixing his own uplifting, soulful music with plenty of well-known favourites!

36 hours in the making…and one of the biggest hits of our summer menu!

The Hoisin Duck Salad 🦆

A fresh summer salad topped with a whole shredded confit duck leg

We don’t buy our duck legs ready-confited. Each one is prepared completely from scratch in our kitchen, the whole confit process takes around 36 hours in total!

They’re marinated and slowly confited until the meat becomes so tender it falls off the bone, before being hand-shredded

Dressed seasonal leaves, watermelon, peach, cucumber, pickled ginger, spring onion and toasted sesame seeds, finished with our homemade hoisin & soy dressing.

We remove the confit duck skin, shred it and crisp it in a pan to order for that salty, crunchy finish 🤤

Sweet, salty, fresh, crispy and tender

It’s been one of the stars of our summer menu and the feedback from everyone who’s tried it has been absolutely brilliant!

Having previously received the Blue Ribbon, it's fantastic to see our food recognised at an even higher level this year!

From our homemade desserts and Sunday roasts to our burgers, steaks and seasonal specials, we've always believed in serving good honest food made with quality ingredients and cooked properly.

This award is a reflection of the huge amount of work that goes on behind the kitchen doors every single day and we're incredibly proud of what the team produces.

It's our favourite day of the week 😍

Last week we introduced our new seasonal vegetables to our Sunday Roasts and judging by your comments, they were a hit!

As always, our roasts are prepared fresh every Sunday with choices of:

🌱 Vegetarian & Vegan options
