The Unicorn Pub in Kent is a fantastic country Pub and Restaurant, steeped in over 250 years of history and heritage. Located in Marden, just outside Maidstone, the building itself has lost none of its character and boasts a spacious bar and restaurant, cozy inglenook fireplace for the winter months and a spacious well kept beer garden for hot summers days. The Unicorn Pub and Restaurant offers you great food, a large selection of wines, spirits and lagers, plus probably the best real ales in Kent, all professionally delivered in a warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The Unicorn is a child friendly Pub and we have an excellent children’s menu for your youngsters. If you are after something more lively, or feel like exercising the old grey matter as well as your drinking arm, the Unicorn holds regular pub quizzes and features some of the best live bands in Kent on a regular basis; as a live music venue there is nothing quite like it! Join us for a special autumn weekend at The Unicorn, Marden, filled with Halloween fun, live music, local food and traditional country-pub atmosphere.

🎃 SATURDAY 31ST OCTOBER | 2pm–4pm

Start your Halloween adventure at The Unicorn!

Bring the children along in their Halloween costumes and get them ready for their trick-or-treat hunt around Marden with our Neon Face Painting and Pumpkin Painting Competition. Bring your own pumpkin to decorate and enter for the chance to win great prizes.

By 4pm, they’ll be dressed, face-painted and ready to head out on their Halloween adventure!

Spaces are limited, so advance booking is recommended.

🎸 Merlin and the Rockets | From 5pm

Once the little monsters head off on their Halloween adventures, the celebrations continue with live music from Merlin and the Rockets from 5pm.

Join us for food, drinks and a great Halloween evening at The Unicorn.

Christmas Celebrations at The Unicorn, Marden

Christmas has always been one of our favourite times of year at The Unicorn. The pub fills with familiar faces as families, friends, colleagues and neighbours come together to share good food and celebrate.

Over the years, we have been delighted to host everything from intimate family lunches to lively Christmas parties. We have learned that no two celebrations are quite the same. If you are planning an office party, a festive meal with friends or a family get-together, our team would love to help you make it your own.

You can enjoy traditional festive favourites alongside much-loved Unicorn dishes, with w**e, bubbles and cocktails to raise a glass. For those planning a bigger evening, we can bring dining together with live music and entertainment, all in the warm surroundings of our village pub.

Marden-Reared Lamb • Apple-Wood Fire • English Country Folk

1st Sunday in November brings something rather special to The Unicorn.

A whole Marden-reared lamb will be slowly spit-roasted over apple wood in our fireplace and served as part of our Sunday Carvery from 12.30pm.

With live English country folk music, a glowing fire and the atmosphere of a traditional village pub, it promises to be a wonderful Sunday celebrating local food, music and community.

What an absolutely fantastic afternoon — a wonderful opportunity to relax, enjoy a sip (or two! 🥂), get creative and discover some hidden artistic talents. 🎨✨

The atmosphere was brilliant, the creativity was flowing, and the finished paintings were simply spectacular! 👏❤️

Thank you for making the afternoon so much fun and for bringing such wonderful energy to The Unicorn.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our Dementia Friendly Community Fundraising event such a great success. 💙

Whether you donated raffle prizes, bought tickets, made a donation, bid in the auction, volunteered your time, or simply came along to support the event – thank you. Every single contribution made a difference.

A very special thank you goes to Merlin and the Rockets for providing the entertainment, and to Dave Vidler, and Mike Malone for their incredible generosity and support. Your kindness helped make the evening truly memorable.

Together, our amazing community raised £1,283 to support the Marden Dementia Friendly Community. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part.

Join us on Friday 31st July from 7:00pm for an unforgettable evening of live music, fantastic raffle prizes and community spirit, all in support of the wonderful Marden Dementia Friendly Community. 💙
We're delighted to welcome Merlin & The Rockets, who'll be providing the soundtrack to a fantastic evening while we raise vital funds for an amazing local cause.
