Now there are awards... and then there are AWARDS... 🏆✨
And thanks to our absolutely amazing community, we've got something very special to celebrate...

Walkden in Bloom has been named a FINALIST in the BBC Make a Difference Awards! 🎉🌟❤️
Just let that sink in for a moment...
Our little town. Our wonderful volunteers. Our community spirit. Our kindness. Our blooming flower beds. Our litter pickers. Our eco heroes.

Now then...
☎️ This morning we got a very important call from Uncle Bulgaria himself. Well... almost. 🐭🧹
He asked us to remind everybody about this Saturday's community litter pick and, being the obedient Wombles we are, we're doing exactly that!

And here's the exciting bit...
🎙️ The BBC will be joining us on Saturday to meet some of our amazing volunteers and carry out interviews as part of the BBC Make a Difference Awards! 🎉🌟
We still can't quite believe we're finalists. ❤️
It's a chance to showcase everything that makes Walkden special – the community spirit, the friendships, the kindness, the flowers, the litter picks and the people who quietly make a difference every single day. 🌸🌻❤️
Whether you're a regular volunteer or you've never joined us before, we'd love to see you there.
Because litter picking isn't really about picking litter...
It's about community. ❤️
It's about neighbours becoming friends. 🤝
It's about taking pride in where we live. 🌸
It's about proving that a small act can make a BIG difference. ✨
And sometimes, it's about having a laugh while doing it. 😂

We'll also be giving our beautiful flower beds a little tidy-up.
Have you seen the wildflowers and poppies lately? 🌺🌼❤️
Many of them were planted by YOU lovely people last year and honestly, what a wonderful sight they are. Every bloom is a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together. ❤️
If you've got some secateurs, bring them along. We'll be dead-heading a couple of plants so they come back even brighter, bolder and more colourful. 🌸🌿🌼
And have you spotted our summer plants starting to appear around town? ☀️🌺
We've already gone round introducing ourselves and telling them how much we love them. 🌼😂
They said they can't wait to blossom and show off for Walkden.
So when you're passing, don't forget to give them a little Walkden TLC and whisper:
