Over the last 50 years Chaplaincy from St Peter's House has been part of many lives and changed the direction of a fair few. Many have worshipped with St Peter's Church. You are welcome to join us for the Closing and Celebration Service for St Peter's House.

On Saturday night, we filled St Peter's House with joy and life for one final time - an evening of food and drink, music and ceilidh dancing, coming together and saying goodbye.
It was a strange mix of emotions for all of us, but a special night.

There is inevitable sadness in saying goodbye, but these are the memories we will hold onto as this chapter closes - memories of warmth and community, love and laughter.

Hannah will be reflecting more on the evening in her next blog - coming soon!

Thank you to our wonderful ceilidh band, the Superceilidhfringelastic Band, and our ceilidh caller, Lisa, for helping us give this place and all it has been for the past 50 years the send off it so deserves.

It's bittersweet, but we're happy that our three bee hives have found a new home with Volition - a charity based at , that provide volunteering opportunities to support people into employment.

We've been reflecting on all of this, and all this place has been for so many people.

This is an important announcement from our Trustees about the closure of St Peter's House, including Milk & Honey Cafe:

'St Peter’s House Chaplaincy has been a vibrant place of community for over fifty years, and in recent years many of you will have come to know and love it for the support and community you find here every day. It is with sadness that the trustees of St Peter’s House now inform you that the charity’s operations are to be wound up over the coming months. There are financial challenges, and the charity’s work can no longer continue.'

SUPER VEG SOUP OF THE DAY

Every day, our wonderful chefs whip up a tasty, planet-loving, seasonal soup with produce collected from .

Chef Ben reckons today’s soup is the fanciest he’s ever made ‘in the history of Milk & Honey’….

Plant-based Bouillabaisse - poached fennel with saffron and grapefruit, wakame swede, garlic + herb marinated butterbeans, pickled cherry tomatoes and croutons. Served with toast and butter.

Lots of fancy words in there, but don’t let that distract you from the main point - that it tastes GOOD 😍

Plus, with every soup you eat in M&H, you’re saving all those veggies that, without and our Chefs, would’ve ended up going to waste. So it tastes good and does good.

As usual, stay in or take away to sit in the sunshine in our new outdoor seating area!

This year we’re partnering with play schemes and youth clubs across Manchester, providing healthy, tasty meals to children who’d usually get free school meals.

Kicking off today with hidden-veg pasta and Milk & Honey flapjacks, we’ll be keeping little ones full of plant-power all week ☀️💕🥬

We invite you to get your gorgeous graduate gown on, and party with us plus your chosen (or actual) family with beautiful, plant-based afternoon tea. We’ll be reel-ready with vintage cake-stands, cute little cakes, scones, fancy biscuits - and you can even add prosecco if you fancy extra pep in your final-day step.

We had a lovely chilled evening last night - drinking, eating pizza (kindly donated by ) and chatting with some of our fabulous volunteer team.

Our volunteers are what makes Milk & Honey wonderful, and how better to thank them for all that they do, than with pizza?

We ❤️ all our volunteers - both old and new - for making our community so beautiful, diverse and ever growing.
