We’ve got some food stock at the pub that we’d much rather see put to good use than go to waste.

So, we’re looking to donate a selection of our food stock — including soups and other suitable items — to local food banks, charities, community groups or organisations supporting people in need.😊

If you’re involved with a local organisation that could make good use of these supplies, or you know one that we should speak to, please get in touch with us. We’d love to make sure it goes directly to people who need it most. 🙏

⚓ The Moorings: A Step Back in Time ⚓

🐴 Did you know?

Long before boats on the Bridgewater Canal had engines, they were pulled along by hardworking horses walking the towpath.

These incredible animals played a huge part in moving coal and goods through the area, with the canal once filled with the sounds of hooves, boatmen and busy working life.

Today, the canal beside The Moorings is a place to relax, enjoy a drink and watch the boats drift by — but over 200 years ago, this same stretch of water was a vital route that helped shape the communities around us.

So next time you’re sat by the canal with a pint in hand, take a moment to imagine the horses, boats and people who passed this way before us. 🍻⚓
