Good morning! We are open 10-4 today!

Out on the counter today are our freshly made cakes, including: Raspberry & white chocolate blondies, some random berry crumble bars I made up, and also sticky coffee and walnut cake.

On the specials board this week are: Roasted tomato and basil soup, tomato and spinach quiche, and also pesto, mushroom/spinach and artichoke toasties. The toasties were nearly pesto and tomato, but I thought tomatoes were taking over the menu a bit 😂

PS. We are also opening this Sunday 10-3 for First Light Festival 🌞

It's been a really tough week, thank you to all those who have commented on here, reached out in anyway - I have felt such support and been encouraged by your kindness and compassion.

I managed to talk to Esmé last night - for nearly two hours! Despite the ordeal of the past week, she was in good spirits. She has been through a harrowing experience, although minimal in comparison to many others. Witnessing her comrades suffering and also the knowledge of all the Palestinian people, including hundreds of children, who are still in those hellish prisons was the most traumatic for her.

Sorry for the late notice, but I won't be opening today. I hardly slept as I was waiting to hear from Esmé and also after reading harrowing reports of how they were treated 😞 I haven't heard from Esmé yet, but I know she and all participants were sent to a medical centre in Turkey yesterday evening (this is all standard procedure) GSF are organising UK participants flights home, so hopefully should hear something soon.
Sorry for any inconvenience. I will keep you all updated when I hear anything. Xx

We are open 10- 4 today. Lunch menu is now as normal, just no weekly special I'm afraid.

Update on Esmé and the GSF:
They are being flown to Turkey today, which is great news. The Turkey government have arranged this, so will done Türkiye! ✨✨
So hopefully Esmé will be back home within the next few days. I'll keep you all updated if we need to close the cafe.
Thank you again to those who have emailed MP's, embassies etc or offered words of support ✨✨
