Who did it best? AI or us?!

Hands up to admit that I’m not a fan of AI at all and I tend to shudder when an image comes in for us to work from. It’s usually unachievable, gravity defying and more often than not, fuggly. But this one was different.

We got sent this first image to work from and I am pretty proud of the result. Thankfully! I do prefer if people just use their words to describe what they want and send a couple of pictures of actual cakes because I like drinking water etc and not boiling to death in the summer but this was a rare good one.

Thoughts?

I mean, could the jungle animals be any cuter?! I don’t think so! My team have such talented hands. I LOVE their work so much. Zayn’s mum sent us an AI image and it was pretty intricate but we rose to the occasion and made this exquisite 2 tier and they are my favourite jungle animal sugar models we’ve ever made

Sometimes we go massive and OTT and sometimes we go small and perfectly executed. These are defo less stressful to deliver so it’s good to mix it up for our blood pressure if nothing else

He came into my life through the TV screen when I was trapped at my in-laws with three kids during Covid questioning, amongst other things, life choices and my sanity and now we find ourselves making this cake to give to the Joe Wicks to celebrate his birthday and the launch of his fab new Podcast with . It’s a podcast/documentary about what are healthy choices and what are just hype. We learned a lot whilst researching the cake, not least that I feel quite bad about how many baked beans my son consumes each week!

Thank you Carolinejacomb for getting back in touch after all these years to order such a fab cake for your company. From HE lessons to work collaborations 30 years later 🥰

I love the story of this cake.

It was David’s 70th birthday and he’d told his wife about one of his really happy childhood memories; when his dad woke him up in the middle of the night to come down and watch the fight between Mohammed Ali and George Foreman in black and white on their TV.

We recreated the moment in cake to celebrate his big birthday. Anyone else remember black and white TVs and only 4 channels? And then Channel 5 came with Hollyoaks and it was big news! I tell my kids about that and they think I’m a dinosaur
