Nigel Barrow's Christmas Puddings

Directions

Nigel Barrow's Christmas Puddings In support of independent artisans this page sells Nigel Barrow's hand made christmas puddings I have been making them on a small scale for over 25 years.

NIGEL BARROW’S CHRISTMAS PUDDING
Traditional (with beef suet) and Vegetarian (with veggie suet)

They are approx 2lb in weight, round - spherical, wrapped in white
muslin and delicious. They contain lots of good quality dried fruit
and French brandy and I only use free range eggs. For the past 15 years I have hired a commercial kitchen in
Hackney, E. London and sold them to delicatessens all over
London and also on the South Coast. They were rated as one of the top artisan christmas puddings in the country by The Telegraph a few years ago. This year they will again be available in some of London’s best deli’s and butchers including M.Meon (Clapham),
Deli Downstairs (Hackney) and David Browns (Whitstable)

Available to you for £14.00 each - They retail in the shops for about £18
Please contact Nigel at [email protected] or on

There will be puddings ! I've finally got into my kitchen and started making them. Not sure how many I'll make this year due to the late start but probably not as many as most years -so get your orders in asap.

So does anyone want any of these chrissie pudds (2lb) for a tenner ?

07/01/2026

So I've got 6 trad christmas puddings left which I will sell for the bargain price of £12 each. Also got a few smaller veggie ones - 12oz and 8 oz - for £6 and £4. Why not buy one now for next year - they will shrink a bit but be even more tasty with that extra maturing. Or have one at Easter - Easter puddings are becoming a thing. They are also very good in the summer with vanilla ice-cream. And u can eat them cold - they go really well with a strong Cheddar cheese. If anyone wants one and can pick it up from the Rochester Castle in Stoke Newington message me here or on 07964 749243.......

Just in case anyone is a little confused about how to steam /serve their pudd- Remove label and place pudd as is - in muslin - into steamer over a pan of boiling water or into a colander over a pan. Cover with lid or tin foil and steam for 2 hrs making sure water doesn't boil dry. Don't place pudd directly into boiling water. After 2 hours remove muslin and under lieing greaseproof paper. Traditionally u then flambe it in brandy with a sprig of holly and then serve with brandy butter, brandy sauce, custard, cream or whatever takes your fancy. Please send me photos of your christmas celebrations with pudds. And Enjoy !
