“Life is about second opportunities.”
Redemption Roasters is on a mission to reduce reoffending through coffee. We provide training, support and employment to people with convictions and those at risk of offending, both in prison and in the community.
In 2025, our reoffending rate across our course Participants was 0%, compared with a 42% national average. To date, we’ve trained over 730 people in barista skills, and more than a third of our shop workforce is made up of Participants.
Earlier in summer, .films got in touch with us because they wanted to tell the Redemption Roasters story and explore what creating second chances can actually look like in practice.
They spent time with our team across the business to capture the people behind Redemption, the work that goes into supporting people into employment, and why we believe businesses can play a real role in creating opportunities for people leaving prison.
