With no Uncle Eavis’s Ha***ob Festival to provide its annual defibrillations, modern entrepreneurialists, SLEAZE needed find another way to keep themselves busy this summer… by selling dreams. “It’s more like I’m offering you the opportunity to sell the dreams, yourself, really,” begins bassist Bede, “Actually, it’s more like, you’ll be selling the opportunity for someone else to sell dreams, too, if you want to be precise,” chimes in Dave A. Vox, looking tasty in that silver suit, as is nowadays expected.
“And, I guarantee, as my guarantee to you, that this is absolutely, positively, one hundred and sixty percent not a pyramid scheme,” dilutes Albrecht Keystation III, “Despite the ‘dreams’ for sale in this instance being secondhand Toblerones, compromised triangular tea-bags, and an unevenly printed children’s book about the buildings of ancient Egypt.” And what are the ladders for, Albrecht? “We’ll do your guttering, too, if anything,” he closes, successfully.

THE YES MEN are on borrowed time, literally. It’s not reported whom or what was the lender of said time, or indeed how many minutes or months they’ll have to repay in total. And how? How will it be repaid? And…and, actually, WHAT? All this and more queries to be resolved live at some point in the show.

j0t RETURNS
Formed in Deptford in 2009, j0t have played the Birds Nest stage over 23 and a half times, this Saturday coming being their 25th. If you know of any other bands that have played somewhere more than once, let us know in the comments section. Expect fuzzy 70s progadelica, cool, breezy jazz, metallique 80s post-punk and 90’s Balkan wood-grunge. Not to mention, a whole lot of unavoidable dancing! Come and live! Why won’t you let yourself live, just for once? Please? Come on, do it for me, please. For me.
