It has been quite a week… our gorgeous grandson Avery decided to make an early appearance 🧸🩵 and we are completely smitten. Add to that a five tier wedding cake that was ordered only a week ago, and it has been a beautiful whirlwind. I will catch up with messages as soon as I can — for now we are soaking up newborn cuddles and feeling very grateful.

When should you cut your wedding cake?

There are actually a few lovely moments during the day where this can fit naturally into your timeline.

Some couples choose to cut their cake during the drinks reception so guests can enjoy a slice while mingling, others prefer to cut it after the wedding breakfast once everyone is seated and ready for a little celebration moment.

You could also serve your cake as the dessert during your wedding breakfast, which is a wonderful way to make it part of the meal. Or save it for later in the evening as a sweet treat for guests once the dancing has begun.

There’s no right or wrong choice, it simply depends on the flow of your day and how you’d like your guests to enjoy it. If you’re unsure, I’m always happy to chat through the options with you during our consultation together.
