If you love independent cafés, brunch spots and local hospitality, now is the time to speak up.
We’re simply asking for the UK to move closer to the reduced hospitality VAT rates already seen across much of Europe. France, Germany and Italy all support their hospitality sectors with lower VAT rates, and Ireland is reducing theirs to 9%.

Our champ Sharon, winner of Coffee Masters 2026. ⭐️

Sharon joined us 5 years ago. We hired her over a WhatsApp video call while she was still living in Hong Kong, for a barista vacancy at TAB TAB. It was the middle of Covid, lockdowns, quarantines, uncertainty everywhere. Despite all of that, she had the courage to relocate to the UK with her partner and their two cats, moving into a flat just down the road from the café.

She started as a barista, became Head Barista, and a couple of years later stepped into the role of Manager. From day one, she had her sleeves rolled up and a smile on her face. Hungry to learn, quietly ambitious, always putting in the work.

She began entering barista competitions early on. Not winning or placing never stopped her. She stayed behind after shifts to practise for hours, consistently, year after year. Over time, she became a familiar and respected face within the UK specialty coffee scene.

Winning Coffee Masters is not the pinnacle for Sharon, it’s simply part of her journey.

She’s a real testament to grit, determination, humility and the will to succeed.

Sh, whatever the future brings, we know it’ll be bright.
