A local London pub just the way it should be. Time Out London’s Most Loved Pub in Paddington & Bayswa
(1003)

About
The Victoria was built at the same time as Paddington Station (Around 1838). It was always slightly grander than the surrounding pubs and was used by many of the butlers that served in the large houses in the area. Legend has it that Queen Victoria stopped off on her way to Paddington Station, and after that the pub was named in her honour and appointed in it's rather grand style. Charles Dickens spent time writing "Our Mutual Friend" in the pub, and it also appears in two clips from British Pathe news. After the Second World War it was taken over by some theatrical types that converted the upstairs rooms as you see today. In days gone by there have been many celebrities who have either been regulars, or who have just popped in for a drink. Most recently, we have had guests such as Liam Gallagher and his family, Claudio Ranieri, Ronnie Wood, and Damien Hirst. Keira Knightley used to be a regular, and you’d recognise plenty of other faces enjoying a discreet drink.

If you’re looking for private dining, a Christmas party or somewhere a little special to get everyone together, we know just the place.

Our Library is tucked away upstairs at The Victoria, with its own fireplace, beautiful original features and plenty of old-fashioned charm.

From festive lunches and dinners to private celebrations, it’s a pretty lovely place to have all to yourselves.

Christmas dates are filling up quickly, so get in touch if you’d like to make the Library yours for the occasion.

Remember when we said there was something rather exciting hiding in our cellar?

Well, here it is.

Fuller’s Vintage Ale is coming to The Victoria.

And while we’re at it, we’ve made it a little easier to keep an eye on our cask ales too. What’s pouring now, and what we’ve got coming next.

Keep an eye on the board. There are some very good pints on the way.

We’ve got some wonderful cask ales lining up at the moment… but there’s something rather exciting hiding amongst them.

Can you spot it? 👀

Yes, we know it’s only September. No, we’re not sorry.

The Christmas board is up, which can only mean one thing… Christmas at The Victoria is officially on its way.

It might feel early, but when it comes to Christmas parties, there’s really no such thing. Our festive bookings are already coming in, so if you’re planning a Christmas get-together, dinner or private party, now is the perfect time to get your favourite date in the diary.

December will be here before we know it.🎄

A little behind the scenes of what goes into your plate…

Our food preparation doesn’t begin and end in The Victoria kitchen.

Today our Head Chef is getting a first taste of what’s coming next, and by the looks of it, we’re in for a very good autumn.

New autumn dishes are on their way to The Victoria very soon.

Chef appreciation post. 👨‍🍳

It might be 36°C outside today, but spare a thought for the team behind the kitchen doors.

Through the heat, the busy services and some seriously hot kitchens, our chefs are still here doing what they do best and making sure every plate goes out just as it should.

A little appreciation for the people behind the food. We couldn’t do it without them❤️🙏🏻

Folc’s Pinot Noir Rosé, produced and bottled in England, is the perfect accompaniment for the English summer… best enjoyed in your nearest Fuller’s garden. As part of our English W**e Month celebrations, you can buy a small glass of any English W**e for £7.50 throughout June.

Plus, working with brands such as .folc – who have developed more lightweight packaging while working hard to promote soil health and biodiversity as part of their w**emaking philosophy – means we can offer you delicious w**e that has less impact on the planet.
