The Gallery Cafe first opened its doors in 2006 and is St Margaret’s House’s largest in-house community project. As well as offering low-cost vegan dishes, locally-ground coffees, vegan sweet treats, and healthy juices, we also host an exciting programme of live events and monthly art exhibitions from up-and-coming artists. During summer weekends, you can bask in the sunshine on our sun- trap terrace and back garden, whilst spending the rest of the year getting cosy inside the cafe with nice music, friendly faces, and access to speedy Wi-Fi. It's also an exciting time for us as we'll be going fully vegan by the end of the year, switching out our dairy milks for plant-based ones!

26-27 Sept, 10am-4pm: Pigeon Squirrel Spider Sparrow - examining everyday encounters and how they form relations that weave into a larger web of events.

You'll all know we have a new exhibition on the walls of the Cafe every five weeks, but did you know there's a pop up exhibition nearly every weekend in our Chapel space?

If you're visiting the Cafe this weekend, take a trip to the Chapel for the free exhibiton before you leave.

Are you joining us for this month's Art Cafe tomorrow evening from 6pm?

It's a relaxed evening of creating and connecting...and it's free! You'll be guided by artists Honey and Jasmin.

We don't serve everything we do in the day but you can get teas, cold drinks and salads or crisps!

Dear friends,
We have made the difficult decision to close the Gallery Cafe on Mondays. We will also be closing at 4pm Tuesday-Sunday.
These changes help us focus our resources on the times when the cafe is busiest, while continuing to offer a welcoming and affordable space for everyone who visits St Margaret’s House.

We hope you'll continue to support the cafe Tuesday-Sunday, buy your pre-loved items in Ayoka, and come along to our events, exhibitions and workshops.
By supporting us, you help us maintain our vital work providing creative health opportunities for everyone.

Our latest exhibition is up!

'Second Hand September - We all Repair' is an up-close look at repair: of things, of people and of our communities.

The stories on the walls are as beautiful as the photos so take some time to read them all when you are next in for lunch or a long lazy latte...
