Unfortunately, due to being let down, the change of hands at The Golden Lion did not happen today as planned.

Tonight was supposed to be our last evening with you all, and we know there were lots of you planning to join us for a ‘farewell drink’ 💔

For now, we are still open as normal and will continue to run The Golden Lion for the foreseeable future.

We just want to say a huge thank you, once again, for all of your support - now more than ever. Your kindness, messages and continued support mean the absolute world to us.

We love our locals, and we’re so grateful for every single one of you 🧡

We are leaving 🧡

The Golden Lion will be under new management from Thursday, and although we knew this day would come, it doesn’t make saying goodbye any easier.

We have genuinely loved every second of our time here with you all. From the laughs, the busy days, the quiet ones, the Sunday lunches, the coffee mornings, the darts, the football and everything in between - you’ve all made our time at The Golden Lion so special ✨️

We will certainly miss seeing so many of you on a daily basis, but we won’t be strangers. We’ll still be around, and we’ll definitely be popping in from time to time!

A huge thank you to every single person who has supported us, encouraged us, shared a drink with us, joined us for a meal or simply walked through the door. We honestly couldn’t have done it without you ❤️

We’ll be here until close on Wednesday for a farewell drink (or two! 🥂), so please call in and see us. We’d absolutely love to see as many of you as possible before we go.

It’s not goodbye…it’s “see you later” 🧡

This Sunday will be our last Sunday Lunch at The Golden Lion, and we’d love for you to join us one more time! 🥹

We’ll be serving Beef or Pork, with our vegetarian option of Mushroom & Chestnut Wellington 🌱 Please let us know of any dietary requirements when booking.

Come and enjoy a relaxing Sunday with us, let us take care of the cooking and, most importantly, the washing up! 😉🍽️
