🔥 Wildfire Update | Rhandirmwyn 🔥

We’re pleased to confirm that the proactive firefighting phase of the Rhandirmwyn wildfire has now concluded following several days of intensive operations and a coordinated multi-agency response.

While crews have left the scene, we will continue to closely monitor the area through regular proactive site visits. Members of the public may notice occasional fluctuations in smoke levels, which is not unexpected following an incident of this scale.

Probably the last little Update from me

Thankyou everyone that’s Donated any cash, online or Through Rotary! And also the supplies! Your generosity is phenomenal!

We will no longer be Collecting any Donations of Supplies or Cash.

There is a Go Fund Me Page (Linked Below) that has been set up by Rhandirmwyn District Community Association. Or alternatively Contact Llandovery Rotary. If you’d still like to donate.

We received a Whopping £2920.53 in cash donations in the Shop.
£2360.40 was Spent on the Van loads of Supplies That as a community were sent up to support. Along with the Donated Supplies also.

The £560.13 outstanding will be Sent over to Rotary as a Community donation from all of you that gave cash. For them to Distribute wherever is needed.

🚒 Ongoing Incident | Wildfire at Rhandirmwyn

The wildfire at Rhandirmwyn, near Llandovery, is now considered to be under control following significant progress made by Firefighters and partner agencies over recent days.

As a result, the decision has been taken to downgrade the incident from a Major Incident.

Firefighters have made significant progress in recent days, successfully containing much of the fire and dealing with hotspots across the affected area. Due to the significant progress made, the specialist firefighting helicopter is now no longer required and has ceased operations at the incident.

Members of the public are asked to avoid the affected areas to allow emergency services to operate safely and effectively.

If smoke is affecting your area, stay indoors where possible and keep windows and door closed. Once the smoke has cleared and it is safe to do so, open windows and doors to help ventilate your home.

More Supplies dropped off today, Once again all thanks to all the donations received by the Amazing Community!

The guys up there were treated to a Banging Roast Dinner From The Team at The Royal Oak! And are being Catered for Wonderfully by the Locals.

Nice to chat to some of the different Stations from all over wales, who were all in complete disbelief over what we’ve achieved as a small community to Really all pull together!

Huge Thanks again to everyone that continues to help with everything! Up in Rhandirmwyn and in the Community,

But The Staff here at JT’s! You guys have been incredible in my eyes! Nothings been too much trouble, late nights, early starts, me chucking the workload on you so I can focus on other stuff, I couldn’t have organised anything without you lot holding the fort!

Another Late one tonight, Apologies

Supplies Sent up earlier on today and Recieved with massive thanks by the Guys up there, for those of you asking me in messages.

THE SUPPLIES WE ARE SENDING ARE AT THE ROYAL OAK, THEY ARE PAID FOR BY LOCAL DONATIONS RECIEVED! IF YOU ARE OFFERING YOUR SERVICES TO HELP STOP THIS FIRE, THESE RESOURCES ARE FOR YOU!
FARMERS, FIREFIGHTERS, TREE SURGEONS etc.

This is the Community Coming together to do anything we can. 💪🏻🧯

Cash Donations today were
£584.21,
adding that to yesterday and Friday is giving us somewhere close to £2600 raised to date in Cash donations.

We’ve spent £1500 on The supplies that were sent up today, so we have an outstanding amount of £1100, the Rotary have advised me to continue liasing with the guys up there if they need more supplies we will make it happen!

Thankyou to all the Guys still working hard up there to make it as safe as possible for Residents of Rhandir.

Sorry it’s late, we’ve had a day here and are still smashing stuff about cleaning the shop!

All the food donations went up today around 7.45pm! Along with the Drinks! Loads of you still bringing stuff in! Incredible!

Cash Box for today was a Whopping

Having spoken to the Control team from the fire service today, they were so Appreciative of all the local hard work and Generosity, and couldn’t quite believe how the community has come together! The supplies we sent last night had taken a big hit! And so therefore we decided we needed more stuff in Bulk for tomorrow.

I Liased with Brian of Castell Howell today, Explained what we’d set up with regards to collections box for helping get supplies to the Guys up There, and anyone that knows him will know just how Eager to help he was! So we’ve arranged a delivery of Stuff for the morning to us here, Pallets of Goods to be Sent up. Huge thanks to Castell howell and Especially Brian for jumping to my rescue at such short notice!
