Important changes to Bellsquarry Village Hall
As of 1st April 2026, West Lothian Council are no longer responsible for the running of Bellsquarry Village Hall. As a committee, we have been working hard to secure the future of the hall with as little disruption to our regular hall users as possible.
To allow us to do this we have set up a new Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation - Bellsquarry Hall (SCIO). The old Bellsquarry Village Hall Association has been wound down and all assets transferred to the new SCIO. As such, we are now leasing the hall from the council and are fully responsible for the day to day running as well as all of the health and safety, compliance, insurance and energy costs.
While we have been dealing with the bookings and payments for many years, the other responsibilities are new to us and we are on a steep learning curve.
As a hall user, you shouldn’t notice too much of a difference to your lets but we would ask that you bear with us if any issues do arise.
There is a new folder in the foyer of the hall, please sign in add the details of your classes/attendance. This information is required as a condition of our lease and will be used to calculate the value of community benefit provided by the hall which is then offset against any rent we are due.
