FOUNDERS MICHAEL & LIZZIE MET WHILST LIVING NEAR MONTREAL IN EASTERN CANADA BACK IN 2013. WHILST LIVING IN THE LAND OF POUTINE THEY WOULD FILL THEIR BELLIES MAYBE TOO OFTEN WITH THIS CANADIAN FAVOURITE AND BECAME A LITTLE OBSESSED. TWO YEARS ON, THEY STILL CRAVED POUTINE BUT STRUGGLED TO FIND THE DISH ANYWHERE IN THE UK. SO THEY SET UP A STREET FOOD BUSINESS, 'CARIBOU POUTINE', WHILST STILL STUDEN

TS IN BIRMINGHAM. THEY TRADED AROUND BIRMINGHAM AND THE REST OF THE UK INCLUDING MANCHESTER, LEEDS, SHEFFIELD, CAMBRIDGE AND LONDON AT VARIOUS STREET FOOD EVENTS AND FESTIVALS WHERE THEIR POUTINE GAINED INCREDIBLE POPULARITY EVERYWHERE THEY WENT. LIZZIE, BORN AND RAISED IN LIVERPOOL, KNEW THE CITY WAS SCREAMING FOR POUTINE EVEN IF THEY DIDN'T KNOW IT YET! AFTER TWO YEARS OF STREET FOOD TRADING, THEY BROUGHT THEIR BUSINESS TO LIVERPOOL IN 2017 TO SET UP THE UK'S FIRST PERMANENT POUTINE FAST FOOD RESTAURANT.

One of our lovely loyal customers, Oli, was recently diagnosed with the life altering condition Locked-In Syndrome.

His partner and friends are undertaking an amazing fundraising effort to help cover the specialist rehabilitation care he needs and we’re honoured to be a part of the efforts in supporting Oli. On Sunday 29th September, a group of supporters will be walking from Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester and finishing their journey with us at Caribou to have some much deserved poutine 🧡

MEET THE TEAM

This is Bryony 👋 She's a Yorkshire lass who's currently studying Wildlife Conservation at John Moores University. She might look like an angel in these photos but don't be fooled, if Bryony tells us to do something, we do it because she's a feisty no nonsense girlie and that's one of the reasons why we love her so much.

A hard working and reliable team member we feel very lucky to have her as one of our own. If there's any Caribou gossip, Bryony is the one to know about it, she holds the key to all the juicy stuff.

Poutine of choice is a veggie Mozzarella Fella Poutine (not a veggie but just loves the veggie gravy).

Say hey when you next see her, she leads our team on Wednesday & Saturday evenings ❤️

An appreciation and farewell post to our lovely Aaron.

Aaron joined the team for a Saturday job over three years ago and quickly worked his way up the ranks and has been general manager for the past year.

He's been an incredible part of Caribou's backbone for what feels like forever and to be honest we're all pretending he's just on holiday to soften the blow of missing him.

Our favourite memory with him is when a customer threw their half eaten poutine at their partner and Aaron got half a lamb Easter special down the back of his head. A memory we will all cherish forever.

Good luck to Aaron who's now moved across the water for a new venture - your new team are so incredibly lucky to have you ❤️

We'll be bringing back Aaron's favourite Buffalo Chicken Poutine for a special soon so keep your eyes pealed 👀
