ANGEL INN OPENING DATE ANNOUNCED! 🚹

The news you’ve all been sweating on... We can exclusively reveal that Bold Street’s first-ever true pub will open its teal green doors at 11am on Wednesday August 12th!

No fancy launch party for us, just propping open the entrance with a bit of wood and welcoming in whoever turns up.

On show atop a massive reclaimed original Victorian bar will be an elite stout lineup featuring a Fab Four of Guinness, Beamish, Brennan’s Irish stout and Murphy’s.

There will be some keen pricing on house bottles, spirits and cocktails, and a selection of eight cask ales, mainly sourced from local breweries.

The scran will be a set of minimalist pub classics: toasties, sarnies in cling film, and tomato soup. Plus some really special pork scratching and crisp choices.

The Angel is set in a 19th-century building that for over 20 years housed the legendary "Maggie May’s".

It was an emotional handover from long-time custodian, Carly, earlier in the year, and we hope her and Andy will be among the first to come and enjoy what we've done with the place.

The Angel Inn will be open seven days a week, from 11am til nice and late...

‘The Angel Inn’ is another Rob Gutmann design. Rob said: “Reimagining the old ‘Maggie May’s’ has been a completely absorbing challenge. Suffice to say, it’s had me up nights.”

“My approach is to layer my interiors. I don’t 100% know what I’m going to end up with when I begin. The starting point for ‘The Angel’ was an incredible opportunity to acquire a complete large-scale Victorian back bar and counter. It’s such an impressive piece. Everything else has been designed and curated against this backdrop.”

‘The Angel’ opens in less than two weeks. Rob reckons you’ll love it: “I love it. My motivation is creating a new space that I’m going to enjoy sharing with friends. ‘The Angel Inn’ is part recreation of a classic Victorian pub, part fever dream. Goths are going to dig it.”

Less than two weeks to go! Opening date to be released soon...
