KNITFLICKS: AUTUMN/WINTER PROGRAMME!

Cosy season is upon us! Time to start planning your autumn craft projects and get booking for our upcoming KnitFlicks film screenings, designed with crafters in mind.

KnitFlicks screenings offer relaxed, sociable cinema experiences. Films are screened with lights partially up and descriptive subtitles where available for accessibility. Perfect for unwinding while working on your knitting, crochet, or hand sewing project. We also welcome non-crafters accompanying friends or anyone who wants to come along and soak up the good vibes!

KnitFlicks screenings are supported by an independent yarn shop located just up the road from Depot! Be sure to pay them a visit if you're heading to Depot for a KnitFlicks screening 🧶

BITTER CHRISTMAS - at Depot from Friday 28 August

In the stunning new film film Pedro Almodóvar, Raúl is a cult filmmaker in the midst of a creative crisis. When tragedy strikes one of his closest collaborators, he draws inspiration from it to write his next film. Little by little, he imagines Elsa, a filmmaker in the midst of writing a script, whose journey begins to mirror his own.

The two filmmakers become two sides of the same character, in a game of mirrors where the raw honesty of autofiction reveals as much as it destroys. But how far can one go to tell a story?

Teenage S*x and Death at Camp Miasma is the latest film from acclaimed director Jane Schoenbrun (We’re All Going to the World’s Fair, I Saw the TV Glow). Hannah Einbinder stars as an enthusiastic young filmmaker attempting to resurrect a waning slasher franchise. During her research, she visits the reclusive star of the original film (Gillian Anderson), a mysterious woman who leads her into a blood-soaked world of desire and delirium.

HADESTOWN screens at Depot Tuesday 13 & Sunday 18 October

The international hit musical comes to the big screen!

Winner of eight Tony Awards in 2019 including Best Musical and the 2020 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album, this is the genre-defying musical blending modern American folk music with New Orleans-inspired jazz to reimagine a sweeping ancient tale of two intertwining love stories, that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone.

Filmed live on stage in London’s West End and featuring the original Broadway stars, Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back.
