We’re aware there are a lot of questions and comments regarding outstanding vouchers.
It hasn’t even been 24 hours since we spoke to our team and made the decision public, so we’re asking people to please give us a little time to work through everything properly.
Nobody will be left out of pocket. That is not who we are, and it has never been how we operate, especially when it comes to a community that I myself have put so much time, effort and energy into supporting over the years.
When the Scoonie Tavern first closed, some people may remember that we chose to honour their outstanding vouchers ourselves. We received absolutely no financial benefit for doing that. We simply understood how difficult a situation like that was and wanted to help both Oli his business and the people affected.
We are now in the process of selling up and there are a number of things being worked through behind the scenes. Outstanding vouchers are absolutely part of that process, whether through refunds or arrangements with a new operator where appropriate.
We only ask for a little patience. This is day one, and we are doing our best to make sure everything is dealt with properly and fairly.
No one will simply be forgotten or left out of pocket. That is not who we are, and it is not who we have ever been.
