There's a moment on the walk back in, just as the sun starts to dip, when Dumbarnie's clubhouse looks like it was built for exactly this light. Worth the round on its own.

You don't get days like this every week, so when we do, we take it all in!

Dumbarnie at 4:30 a.m. — waiting for sunrise, with fog hanging low over the course and everything completely still.

Those early morning moments have a different feel. The fairways slowly appear, the light starts to break through, and the whole place feels calm and almost untouched. No noise, no rush — just the course waking up.

A beautiful start to the day at one of Scotland’s most enjoyable places to be.

The third. A par-4 with a green that's reachable from the tee — if the wind cooperates and you're feeling bold enough to carry the bunkers, rough and sand hills between you and glory.

Not feeling bold?

The fairway right is waiting. A safe play, a short iron in, a quiet par. Perfectly respectable.

But this hole has history. And it's only asking one question.
