Back at the start of 2025, we began work on installing our own polytunnel at The Rhynd, with a simple idea in mind - to grow fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs just metres from our kitchen and bring what we grow here into the food we serve.
What followed was the start of a new growing journey. From the first stages of construction and bringing the plans to life, to filling those first little pots with soil and seeds, then patiently watering, tending and watching everything begin to grow.
Fast forward almost two years, and the polytunnel has transformed into a thriving growing space.
Today it is producing fresh fruit and vegetables that are used in dishes served in our café and at our events - making the journey from seed to plate a very short one indeed.
