What a weekend we have in store, featuring a DJ debut from our very own Kate & Imo. No idea who’s working the bar that night, but we’ll work something out 🤷‍♀️

Thursday, our monthly session with Bedu. The Radio alHara راديو الحارة and Brixton Radio resident will be flying solo this month but no doubt he’ll take us on a journey with his selections from around the world.

Friday, it’s ‘The Best Night of Your Life’ as kate ~ 凯特 celebrates another trip around the sun by taking to the stage with bar bestie Imo Dunkley. Joined by a crazy lineup of local party players, we’re expecting anthems of every variety. You’re all invited. Bring cake 🎂🎈🎉

Saturday, it’s the return of with Diego Bocanegra and , bringing tropical vibes back to New York Street for the last of the September sun. Expect sounds of the south, from salsa to reggaeton and everything in between.

One of my favourite things about autumn is big bowls of steamed mussels 🐚 Proper comfort food, and ours come with a feel-good extra as they are lovingly grown by the good people of Câr-Y-Môr (for the love of the sea), a community-owned seaweed and shellfish farm in Pembrokeshire.

Their 3D ocean farming is one of the most sustainable ways to grow food. It needs no land, no fresh water and no pesticides. It also offsets CO₂ and filters nitrates and phosphates out of the water. The seaweed they grow goes into food, animal feed, fertiliser and even biodegradable plastic alternatives.

Mussels will be a regular feature on the menu over the coming months. This week, a bowl comes with Ben’s favourite laksa sauce. Boss level comfort 🌊💪

It’s Negroni Week this week, so we’ve stuck a few extra specials on the menu and are slinging them out for a tenner each until the end of the week 🍹🍊🍒

Our take on the classic. Portobello Road Gin & Vodka gin, Select Aperitivo, Vermouth Naturale Mediterraneo rosso vermouth, and a dash of gentian tincture. The vermouth brings serious depth, and the gentian adds that extra edge of bitterness.

Rowan Berry Negroni. Made with our own rowan berry bitter liqueur. These little berries pack more vitamin C than an orange, though we’re not sure much survives two weeks steeping in grain spirit, but what’s left is a rich mix of sweet, sour and bitter, and a brilliant alternative to Campari.

Negroni Sbagliato. Sun’s out, so the classic summer spritz is back for this week only. We’re using L’Antica Quercia Colfondo Su Alto, a traditional bottle-fermented Prosecco, for a cleaner, less sweet take.

The final dish in our summer series of head chef selections is a true staple of the season: tomato panzanella 🍅

We absolutely love tomatoes and tomato season is easily one of our summer highlights. Isle of Wight tomatoes from and locally grown heritage varieties from , gently dressed, seasoned liberally and served with herbs, citrus & sourdough croutons.

The season is sadly coming to an end but comfort food season is loading…

Closing party for Oliver Lancaster 👀 exhibition ‘Fam’ 🖼️

Party at the neighbour’s Rinse Natural W**e 📣 Head chef Benjamin White hosts another takeover at our lovely neighbour’s gaff next weekend.

Seafood & Sundaes 🦪🍦 oysters, crab rolls, soft serve sundaes, a frozen bloody mary, music from our EYG resident DJs and lots of lovely wines by the glass, obviously.

Sundae funday. 20th September, 2pm - late. No bookings, just pop by.

More things to look forward to as the nights draw in. OKTOBERFEST starts next week and we’re bringing out the steins with this year’s special Oktoberfest releases from Paulaner and Hacker-Pschorr on the taps. Ben and the team are serving up some currywurst hotdogs, schnitzel plates and special bar snacks for the duration of the festivities.

Kicking off the celebrations on Saturday 19th September and rolling through until the 4th October. Book yourself in for dinner or swing by for a stein and a sausage Prost! 🍺🌭
