Nothing says British summertime like a hotdog cooked over fire. We barbecue a frankfurter on wood and charcoal to give the snappy casing a good blister and caramelisation, and serve it on a hot pepper tartare sauce with crunchy fried dill pickles. This slight change in weather has been all the excuse Greedy needed to switch up the cocktail menu, and with it, a new seasonal negroni. A take on a white negroni, with Cocchi Americano vermouth and Suze as the vermouth and buttering elements, with a blast of freshness from Yuzu Sake. Venison Tartare from the current small plates menu. Hand-chopped raw venison dressed with herbs and capers, spiked with pickled celery and jalapeños, and finished with coal mayonnaise to add a bit of barbecue flavour without having to cook the venison, plus our house egg yolk jam for extra creamy, mouth-coating richness.

Best Pub 🤝 Best Restaurant. Couple of pictures from the team’s two trips to the stage at Monday night’s Yorkshire Evening Post Oliver Awards, where Empire Cafe won Best Restaurant and The Laddie was named Best Pub. We never take these things for granted, and we owe it all to the teams at both venues and the hard graft they put in day in and day out. Big thanks to everyone for choosing to spend your time and hard-earned with us as well.

Fish Finger Macarons. Not to be outdone by ’s Bacon & Egg trifle, we’ve got our own little sweet-savoury mind-bender on the menu. Noticing how similar the smooth curvature of a macaron is to a certain restaurant’s bun - not to mention the sweetness - the rest wrote itself. Classic macaron shell with a white fish, parsley and caper patty, tomato and Tabasco ganache, and all the typical hamburger accoutrements. You might have to trust us on this one, but you’ll be glad you did.

Right, off to test that the staff room drinking water hasn’t been spiked…
