Let’s get back to it….

Past few weeks, months even i really struggled to keep on top of posting, and was surviving in collaboration’ posts 😂

Busy season, crazy September and that feeling of being ‘speed on to many slices of bread’ as Bilbo Baggins would say.

In other words- life got in a way of social media… which probably, and hopefully is a sign of sanity… not sure how sane am I but shall we just go with that?!

Either way, I have made some plan to keep myself on track.

Thank you for all bookings, messages, enquiries and all@the weddings I was part of this 2026 season… I still have some fabulous wedding in a winter time and i can’t wait to show you all the beauty we have created with my amazing couples!

Before we trade sun-drenched tables for candlelight and crisp mornings…

A little summer wedding dream, saved here for the memory.

Warm days, beautiful details, flowers everywhere and that particular kind of magic that only seems to exist in summer.

So grateful to have been part of this one, alongside such an incredibly talented team. 🤍

And while I’ll always have a soft spot for summer weddings, I’m more than ready for the cooler, golden, autumnal days ahead — as you all know, autumn is very much my season.

Things my 11 years as a chef taught me about wedding cakes… 👇🏻

11 years in total and 5 years, I worked in Michelin-starred kitchens across Wales, Bath and Bristol.

It taught me a lot.

Mostly that “good enough” is not a thing.
And that chefs can apparently survive on coffee, adrenaline and very questionable sleep schedules.

But when I started The Orchid Kitchen, I realised those years had prepared me for this more than I ever expected.

✨ Preparation is everything.
The beautiful, effortless-looking cake?
There’s usually a mildly obsessive amount of planning happening behind it.

✨ Details matter.
Texture. Flavour. Finish. Structure.
The things you think nobody will notice are usually the things that make something feel exceptional.

✨ Stay calm when things go wrong.
Because something WILL go wrong.

A cake doesn’t care that it’s a wedding.
Ganache doesn’t care that you’re already running late.
And fondant certainly doesn’t care about your emotional wellbeing.

You learn to fix it and carry on.

✨ Consistency matters.
It’s not about making one beautiful cake.

It’s about delivering the same standard every single time — even when you’re exhausted, fully booked and wondering why you thought being your own boss sounded relaxing.

✨ Respect the craft.
My chef years taught me that food isn’t just about how it looks.

It’s flavour.
It’s texture.
It’s technique.
It’s quality.
It’s the experience.

And that’s exactly how I approach wedding cakes today.

So no, I didn’t leave the chef world completely behind.

I just swapped the kitchen pass for a cake table.

And thankfully…

Nobody is shouting “SERVICE!” at me anymore.
