The Calf Shed is all about family and community, and that means standing together through the quiet, heavy times just as much as the joyful ones. Sending the biggest, gentlest hug to every family remembering a little one who left this world far too soon.

As many of you know our little girl arrived early and ever since then I have wanted to do more to support families who have spent time in NICU. NICU brings a different start to the journey of parenthood.

I am proud and excited to say that we have secured funding though Baby Week UK charity and Leeds Community Foundation to deliver sessions to families and babies who have spent time in NICU.

This is a fully funded 5 week course, if you feel anxious for any reason about attending classes; this may be the course for you.

Classes will take place at The Calf Shed

Half Term is nearly here! It’s nearly spooky 👻 time!

Take a look where we have spaces left. Please note some days we have sessions so can’t cater for drop ins at all times so please check each days program.

If you’ve booked a session, the cafe will be open for you before or after your session. Stay for some spooky snacks and enjoy the atmosphere.

Some sessions have limited spaces; dressing up is encouraged but not essential throughout the week. We like fun cute spooky not scary spooky!

When local parents reach out we want to help where we can. We’d love to welcome in some past customers and some new. This last minute session has been placed on to support local families. Schools shut for KS1 at St Matthew’s so please expect some bigger ones in our play space tomorrow afternoon. It’s not exclusive use; all are welcome just note it may not be such little ones between 1-3pm.

Half price play for all KS1 children of St Matthew’s. Adults must stay on site throughout. Cafe is open if you need that coffee!

The Lidl and Aldi wooden Toy sale didn’t disappoint. After a year of use our cafe toys needed a refresh. In the cafe we like minimal parts (they just don’t stay together) and easy to clean (essential) so we have found some lovely new additions.
What we love is the range of ages we’ve managed to cater for with a few different products.

Here’s the first one. Great for developing fine motor skills, colour sorting, number and counting practice too. The teacher in me LOVES this one, and it seems so do lots of you!

Thanks for always being so supportive; it’s amazing how many of you have noticed the small new additions and improvements and thanked us. Well thank you for choosing to have your coffee/lunch with us; we appreciate you too.

Next half term is always one of the busiest, it’s the lead up to Christmas and what a term we have in store.

New customers. Your password to book will be emailed today. Keep an eye on your junk in case you don’t get it.

New customers; your day is Friday at 8pm. If there’s a full group of you wanting to join please contact me and I can add additional classes to meet demand.

We have our next Youth Club evening.

Come and enjoy a catch up with friends in a relaxed Halloween Party fun.

All the Lego, giant games like Jenga, Kerplunk and Connect 4 but this time we’ll have Apple Bobbing and more Halloween games too! Including a party mix of songs for Halloween disco and limbo.

Dressing up is highly encouraged. We want witches and Skeletons and pumpkins too! Aimed at 5-10year olds.

Food is included in the ticket price of just £10.
Book them a Friday treat! No tricks here!

Adults stay on site throughout.
