The little things really do matter 💚

A warm welcome when you arrive. Sessions that aren’t packed out. Toys put back where they belong. A space reset between every group. Somewhere grown-ups can sit comfortably while children explore.

None of these things are huge on their own, but together they shape how a visit feels.

We want The Hidden Village to feel calm, cared for and welcoming from the moment you arrive - somewhere children can settle into their play and grown-ups can feel comfortable too.

That’s why we keep numbers limited, take time between sessions to reset the village, and try to make every family feel genuinely welcome.

Because sometimes the little things are what make you want to come back 🌿

Need somewhere lovely to go this weekend? 🌿

At The Hidden Village, children get 90 minutes to explore, imagine and create their own little adventures across our role-play village.

They can care for animals, run the café, go shopping, build, dress up and move between the different areas completely at their own pace.

We keep numbers limited so the space feels comfortable rather than crowded, with plenty of room for children to become properly absorbed in their play.

It might look like they’re “just playing” - but there’s so much happening underneath 🌿

When children role play, they’re practising communication, using their imagination, solving little problems, building confidence and learning how to play alongside others.

At The Hidden Village, we give them the setting, the props and the time to let those skills develop naturally through play.

And the best part? They don’t know they’re “learning”.

They’re just serving lunch, caring for animals, answering the phone, making up stories and having fun 💚

Our 90-minute sessions are child-led, with limited numbers so there’s plenty of space to explore at their own pace.

We loved receiving this review after a recent first visit 💚

“We had a great morning out at The Hidden Village in Leeds. It is a pleasant, safe and well-managed space. The attention to detail on the toy options, and the quality of the wooden toys and play materials was really high... We all enjoyed it, and plan to return :)”

That last line is exactly what we want The Hidden Village to be.

Not somewhere children enjoy while the grown-ups simply wait for the session to finish, but a place the whole family enjoys visiting - We loved receiving this review after a recent first visit 💚

Mornings with little ones can feel very long when you don’t have anywhere to go 💛

Our weekday sessions are perfect for children aged 0–5, giving babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers a chance to explore the village alongside children closer to their own age.

With very limited numbers in each session, there’s space to wander, investigate, return to favourite areas and become properly absorbed in their play.

And for you? Somewhere warm and welcoming, a seat nearby and a proper cup of coffee.

Our weekend sessions continue to welcome children up to age 10, so there’s something for the whole family throughout the week.

Never been before? Here’s exactly what a visit to The Hidden Village looks like 🌿

When you arrive, you’ll check in, take off your shoes and then your play session begins.

Children can explore the village at their own pace, moving between our different role-play areas, returning to favourites and creating their own stories as they go.

Grown-ups can join in as much as they like, or take a seat nearby and enjoy something from the café while staying close to the action.

A few useful things to know before you come:

‱ sessions last 90 minutes
‱ bring socks or slippers
‱ we welcome children up to age 10
‱ numbers are kept limited for a calmer experience
‱ food, drinks and proper coffee are available from the cafĂ©

Our little cafĂ© area is one of those spaces children seem to return to again and again. One minute they’re making you lunch, the next they’re serving cake, taking payment or running the whole cafĂ© themselves.

While they’re busy making pretend coffees, you can enjoy the real thing nearby.

It’s simple, imaginative play, but underneath it they’re practising communication, confidence, turn-taking and creating stories of their own.

A children’s outing should feel good for you too 🌿

The loveliest compliment we can receive is seeing the same families walk back through our doors 💛

For some, it’s the calm atmosphere. For others, it’s the friendly team, the cafĂ©, the imaginative play or simply finding somewhere their child genuinely asks to return to.

Children rarely play in exactly the same way twice. One visit might revolve around caring for animals, another around running the café, and another might become one enormous story stretching across the whole village.

That’s part of what makes role play so special - the space may be familiar, but their imagination keeps changing the experience.

If you’ve never visited The Hidden Village before, here’s a little look at what’s waiting inside 🌿

Our child-sized role-play village is filled with spaces designed for children to explore, imagine and create their own stories.

They can care for animals in the vets, serve food in the café, visit the shops, respond to an emergency, build, post letters and decide for themselves where the adventure goes next.

There’s no set route and no pressure to rush. Children can move between the different areas at their own pace, return to favourites and become properly absorbed in their play.

We also keep numbers limited, helping the village feel calmer and giving everyone more room to explore.
