🥂 **5 YEARS OF THE ROYAL OAK… AND WE’RE STILL STANDING!** 😂
Five years ago, we took what can only be described as a slightly questionable decision and a leap of faith and took on The Royal Oak, Much Marcle.
Five years later… we’re still here! 🍻
In that time we’ve served thousands of meals, poured more pints than we care to count, hosted weddings, birthdays, christenings, wakes, Christmas dinners, Sunday lunches and everything in between.
We’ve spent far too much time worrying about the takings, staffing, suppliers, boilers, drains, ovens and whether anyone actually remembered to order the vegetables… 🤣
The takings have gone up and down more times than a yo-yo, while an impressive percentage of them seem to disappear straight into the taxman's pocket! 💸😂
There have been days when we’ve thought “This is the best job in the world”…
…and days when we’ve thought “Why on earth did we buy a pub?!” 🤦♀️😂
But through all of it, there’s been one constant….. the people!
The customers who became friends.
The friends who became family.
And most of all…..the staff who have worked their socks off.
And everyone who has walked through that door and helped make The Royal Oak what it is.
So, five years on, we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve created here.
A proper village pub. ❤️
A place to eat, drink, laugh, celebrate, commiserate, put the world to rights… or just sit quietly by the log burner and enjoy being in a pub for what a pub is actually meant to be.
So tonight, we’ll raise a glass to five years of The Royal Oak.
Five years of madness.
Five years of memories.
Five years of laughter, tears, stress, friendship and an awful lot of washing up! 😂
