Dear Community,
We hope this message finds you well. We are the owners of your local Post Office and the adjoined cafe space. As a family who moved here last year only, we came with the genuine intention of serving our community — providing reliable postal services and creating a warm space for coffee and connection.
Unfortunately, after nearly 5 months, we had to close the cafe due to ongoing financial losses and internal administrative challenges. We know some of you may have wondered why a “running” cafe was closed, and we completely understand that from the outside it may have looked different. The full story was more difficult than it appeared, and we made the tough decision in the best interest of keeping our core Post Office business sustainable for the long term.
In the recent months and yesterday, however, we’ve been deeply saddened and disappointed by a series of incidents:
• Dog faeces smeared on our windows and main entrance (twice).
• Our sun umbrella base smashed.
• Last night around 1:00 am, two individuals interfered with our ice cream bike parked outside — taking it briefly, then returning it after distorting the fridge out of its frame and damaging the tyre cover.
We have clear footage from last night (which we are attaching to this post) and would greatly appreciate it if anyone in the community recognises the person(s) involved, even if the face isn’t fully clear. We are not looking to cause trouble — we simply want to understand what’s happening and protect our small family business.
We came here to serve this community. If anyone has any questions or feedback about how we run our business, we warmly invite you to speak to us directly. We are always open to constructive conversation. Indirect actions like these only hurt everyone in the community, including the many good people who support us every day.
We truly value being part of this neighbourhood and remain committed to providing excellent service with respect and integrity. All we ask is for the same respect in return so we can continue contributing positively.
Thank you to all our loyal customers and neighbours who continue to show us kindness — it means more than you know.
Let’s keep our community strong, understanding, and supportive of one another.
Thanks & Regards
