So, I had a wee bit of 'mare today...

I was making Almond Macaroons for The Knaresborough Bake Shed this afternoon and, long story short, they all stuck to the cookie rings and baking parchment (truth be told it was cookie carnage) 😭

However, in true Sarah style I kept the broken bits and turned them into something else!

Macaroon Brownie (GF/DF) will be wending it's way up to the shop tomorrow morning, while a second batch of successful Macaroons will be in the shed for Cookie Week!

Made with cloudy lemonade concentrate and fruit purees...these are tangy and sweet and oh so refreshing!

Bed Race Day....

This Saturday (13th of June) is The Great Knaresborough Bed Race, and we do things a bit differently...

All food and drink will be served in/on takeaway cups and disposable plates.This is to keep service moving as swiftly as possible and free up staff from doing washing up etc. You are more than welcome to sit in to enjoy your food and drink, but they will just be in disposables.

We are also limiting our food offer to on-the-go savoury snacks and sweet treats. This frees up staff from preparing hot food and keep wait times to a minimum.

We will also be pausing service between 1pm and 1.30pm so we can enjoy the parade with everyone else!

We will be open 9am to 3pm - see you on Saturday!

We went for a simple sponge cake to start off the week, but simple doesn't mean basic!

This is my last shameless plea to vote for Number Thirteen in the upcoming Knaresborough Business Awards!

There are only 48 hours left to vote for your favourite Knaresborough businesses and it would mean the world if you would vote for Number Thirteen in the 'favourite coffee shop' category!

On a personal note, this may be my last awards night as the owner of a bricks and mortar, town centre business, and it would be so incredible if we won the favourite coffee shop award for the fifth year running....

But, more than that, it would mean so much to the team of people that work beside me. It will show that it's due to them, that this business is what it is, and will continue to be, even when I'm no longer there.

We are more than just coffee and cake, we are a community (with cake...)
